wow thats really cool, shame it had no pics though! I know a company and I could get some samples made up from china probably without the cost.

I've checked the encyclopedia post but could anyone list all the materials and things you need to make some jeans.

Also does anyone know any companies that do rivets/studs/buttons with personalised patterns or names on them?

yeh they are, hopefully we will get an even better collection of stores so I wont have to trek up Park Street. I keep having a dream where I own my own denim/vintage boutique lately, strange :confused:

I dont have any raw jeans, Im a proper novice here! I never knew there were forums with other like minded jean lovers! Hoping to get some good advice and get into the raw though.

i live outside of Bristol and study graphic design at UWE but I'm thinking of going into visual merchandising as a way to become closer to my shopping habit!

ps. love the thread about the guy asking wether he should wash his jeans after an accident, I think clothes are an excellent way of storytelling and I would never wash mine!

Still wondering if anyone in the US has had any problems with customs such as having the item held or getting some kind of charge. I want to order some cargo pants in the near future and was wondering if this would be my best bet or if i should use a bid service where the person could mark it as a under $50 gift. It would cost a bit more this way, which is why i'm asking.

I lived in the Us for a bit and sent lots of my stuff home to the UK by Airmail and shipping, I didnt have any problems at all, they were all marked as value under $50 and as clothing or gifts. I have heard of some people having to pay the extra 9.5% VAT through customs though as they only pay about 8% in the US *** I think!

Hey everyone, have been reading the site for a while and although I dont have a collection to most of you guys, I am well and truely obsessed with denim and want to get into it properly!

Firstly, I wonder if any of you can help me....I am doing my final graduation project on jeans and Im looking at the relationships that people have with their fave pairs and the stories that people have behind them. Second, is there anyone on here from the South West UK that knows any decent stores?

So, Are there any pairs that you could never throw away? What is your favorite pair?

Mine is a pair of my dad's old 501's, I could never fit into them but I love all the old stories of when he was younger!
