  1. it was the first thing I bought when I moved out to LA. Back in the midwest, they're all rusted away... I spent over a year looking for a great shape original uncut bronco. I'm the second owner. It had a label sticker from the 70's saying "Happy Hooligan" across the dash.. hence my name and avatar.

  2. Thanks Misterh, it's been really fun being part of a contest and getting to know everyone involved and seeing the cool and wonderful things they do throughout the year...

now an update on my update... Spent half the day cutting out the pieces.

  3. this will be my last update since we're almost out of time.

My wife saw this plan in the This Old House magazine and recruited me to build it since I have the week off.

So stopping by Lowes last night to get the parts...

Now I got the lumber, but now how to figure out how to get it home on the bronco. I need an old truck badly.

  4. After a lot of thought, I'm selling my personal Aero Half-Belt.

Ken made this for me about 9 years ago. It's a special horse hide he had that's a little less thick than heavy front quarter but thicker than the one on the A2. Still a heavy jacket.

It's on the "Thunderbay" label since the hide wasn't the standard half belt hide. Does Aero even make the standard Half Belt anymore?

Two hand warmer pockets, lined in cotton drill. Storm cuffs, Brass Talon Zipper. Jacket has wear and is broken in but still could use some more breaking in. It's a very tough hide.

Chest (armpit to armpit): 25 1/2"

Top of collar to end of jacket: 27 3/4"

    Asking $800.00 + shipping.

  6. the video's a bit odd to follow.

He said he found the company that made the first pair of jeans and asked if they could do that again. We see Cone, so I guess he's saying Cone made the first pair of jeans, years after Levi's did.

And then he says the company that made jeans closed up shop and moved to China. I guess he's referring to Levi's. Did Levi's go to china to make jeans?

I like the phrase, "Cut to Fit American's." I think we all know what that means.

I wonder if the machines they use to make these jeans are "American Made?" Are the buttons made in America? The thread? The workers?

If you're going sell the history of jeans, at least get your facts straight.
