  1. Cultizm is offering 25% off atm so I just picked up the 0306-82 in the 16oz slub or "textured" denim (their current sale seems like a fairly decent deal on Momotaro right now). Pretty excited that they have the Going-to-battle stripes too.

Also, what's the difference between the tight tapered and high tapered fits? Looking at the measurements at Blue Owl the difference between the two cuts seems almost negligible.

  2. Anyone know what the situation is in Japan atm with international shipping? I've had one package sitting at Tokyo international since April 24. I know it's due to the limited flights, but I've been eyeing something else and would hate to end up waiting months on that too. Are orders from Denimio in the same boat right now? I hope Japan begins to open up again soon so I can get my package.

  3. Thinking of picking up a pair in the Kiraku denim for this summer. What's the sizing advice on these? Do they stretch significantly due to the loose weave and light weight? I'm thinking of the 206s and looking at measurements I could either go true to size or size down one if tend to stretch out a lot.

  4. I believe these are a few seasons old now, but one of the best colorways from the collab imo. I picked them up slightly used, and they've only been worn a few times by me. They're pretty similar to Diemme's Roccia Vet boot. I really like them but they're sadly just too small. They are printed as a Euro 46, but don't seem to fit like one. I'd say they'd fit someone with a narrow 11.5 foot much better. I can fit into a 11.5D Red Wing for comparison and these are shorter in internal length than any of my 11.5 RWs.

  5. I feel like in real-life world so few people would even understand the historical context of a single pocket jean that they'd either assume it's a defect or the other pocket fell off somehow.

  6. Up for sale are a pair of gently worn 1954 501zs. These have received one initial wash to shrink them and then have been worn around 10 times since then. The waist is just a little too tight for me so I've decided to clear them out. Very little wear on them (see pics for closeups of the few spots of visible wear).

    approximate measurements

    waist: 15.5"
    front rise: 10.5"
    thigh: 11.5"
    hem: 7"
    inseam: 32"

Asking $120.00-->$110.00 shipped in the CONUS

  7. I recently cleaned out my closet and discovered these pants don't fit me anymore (none had been worn for a while--or at all in the case of the Jcrews).

Pics for all the pants are available in this thread.

    1. Oni's Black Fit size 29
These were worn some but were always a little too tight so not that often (these are fairly narrow in the hips). 15oz denim. In very good condition still except for the leather patch that is gone.

    W: 15.5
    FR: 10.75
    Thigh: 11
    Knee: 8
    Leg: 7.5
    Inseam: 33.5

Asking $50 + shipping from MN

    2. Nom de Guerre Classic Fit size 30 in black
Purchased slightly used from someone else. Worn a bit but doesn't really show. I think maybe washed once.

    measurements
    W: 15.4
    FR: 10.5
    Thigh: 11.25
    Knee: 8
    Leg: 7.5
    Inseam: 33

    Asking $45 + shipping

    3. J.Crew Bedford Cords in Vintage Merlot 29x32
I've only tried these on. These ran a bit tighter than I expected.

    measurements
    W: 15.5
    FR: 10.5
    Thigh: 10.75
    Knee: 8
    Leg: 7
    Inseam: 31.5

    Thanks for looking!

  8. I've been shopping for some slim, tapered black jeans and keep coming back to either the 3sixteen ST-220x or Left Field Black Maria Chelsea. About the same price and denim weight (although apparently different mills). Measurements seem pretty close too (I like that they both have a rise that's a bit higher than many other slim, black jeans). I'm also considering something from Japanese brands but so far haven't really found any in black with a similar cut.

  9. I picked up some 710s recently and now I understand why it's such a popular cut. I think they're the best fitting samurai's I've owned. My second pair of raw denim that I ever owned was a pair of the S0505s and they were great but I sized down a little too much and the zip fly just wasn't my thing. Tried both the 500 and 110XJ as well at different points and loved the denim on both but they didn't work out for me either. But this time I'm positive I'm be sticking with my 710s. However, out of all the pairs I've had I still think the 110xj's denim was my favorite. I really wish Samurai would use the left hand twill denim on more cuts. I'd buy a 710 cut with that denim in a heartbeat.

  10. My S710XX pair (size 35) has been washed three times (line dried only).  Here are the BiG measurements after a few days of wear (i.e., including stretch back):

    Waist            36.25"

    Front Rise    11.75"

    Back Rise     15.75

    Upper Thigh 12.75"

    Knee              9.25"

Did it take much effort to stretch the waist back out to what I assume are close to pre-wash measurements? I'm kind of deciding between a 31 or 32 in the 710 myself. Thinking 31 since I have slim thighs and legs, but ideally I take around a true 32 waist. I wear Fullcount 1108s in a 30 for example but they are super stretchy denim and also much lighter weight.

  11. Are the current crop of 710XXs pretty commonly measuring +1 above tagged before soaking? I only ask because I've had issues in the past with Sammies that were actually much smaller than I expected.

  12. I just got these in the mail a few days ago but the cut just didn't work out for me. They've only been tried on for about fifteen minutes inside the house. I believe they are raw sanforized denim (the denim is kind of a loose, slubby weave that should fade rather interestingly).

  13. So how is the 18oz denim on the 0305-50/0605-50 models? Has it been used on any other Momotaro jeans (kind of wondering how it compares to some of the great faded momotaro denim I've seen)?  Also, does anyone know what's up with either of those new cuts as far as why I don't see them on Momotaro's website or regular Japanese stocklists? Are these cuts exclusive to western retailers?

  14. Any suggestions for a mid-rise tapered jean that's slim but not skinny (something like 10"+ rise on a size 30 with around a 6.75-7" leg opening)? So far I've found the Fullcount 1110z and Oni 527ZR that are kind of close to what I'm looking to find (1110z seems close except I'm not big of a zip fly). With the low Yen I'm probably looking to order from Japan so any other suggestions from Japanese brands would be great.

  15. I believe the 54 actually has a lower rise after shrinking. Levi's Japan shop lists them as having similar measurements before washing. For reference I have 54s in size 32 and the rise is about 10.5 after soaking (one of the reasons I didn't even attempt to size down was because I can't tolerate a lower rise than 10.5).
