Aren't those both bootcuts?
will never understand bootcut hate...
there is very little flair to either, its more the legs are fitted

Three more weeks before I come home from Tokyo, and I've got the suitcase space and cash for one pair of jeans. I want something as slubby, thick, and stiff as possible, but a pretty slim cut. I'm 5'4", and anything approaching repro makes me look way too stocky/dwarfish. I already own Skulls and PBJ-005's, and was wondering if I could find something in a similarly slim cut with the texture and stiffness of, say, Samurai's. Is this an impossible quest? I tried some Samurais and they were deliciously crunchy, but even the slimmest cut was way big in the legs.
you are looking for S0120XJs (the best fit in the legs)
or 512XXBCs, a pretty nice fit as well

Damn, since Samurai left hand twill shrinks to tagged size, I'm surprised you got them down to a 32. Should've bought true to size.
31s fit perfect at the store so they told me to get 33s
you'd think they would know what they are talking about at samurai's HQ store

le sigh
no one?

how many hot soaks should I try on my Samurai S0120XJs before I give up? bought raw 33s hoping to shrink to raw 31 size, but they are more like 32s
first hot soak was 4 hours in hot water then a wash...
can I get another size down out of them?
posted em in supermarket, i have little hope

I just bought these S0120XJs from the Samurai HQ store here in Osaka.
I have hot soaked and washed them once, they did not shrink as much as I expected so I am going to get a size 32.
They have not been worn except to check the sizing.
They currently fit 31.5 in the waist and have not be hemmed.
Paid 24,900 yen ($264.30) last week, make me a reasonable offer.

two cold soaks, one hot soak (not very long), doing another hot soak now, i guess dryer after this soak? i'm just looking for 34-32 shrinkage, which is what i was told i'd get

so my new S512XXBCs aren't shrinking to a 32 like they are supposed to

Jackets are nice, and if those are the dirt-dyed Okinawas, the shade is between that shown in the pic of the jacket and that shown in szygy's pic.
Just saw those Okinawas IRL at Self Edge, they are beautiful.
yeah those are Okinawas, same kanji so I figured it was the same color

i believe one is persimmon dyed and one is ash dyed. something like that.
dirt dyed, its a lot darker than that picture would suggest

those fit EXACTLY like the pics of me wearing a 31 as well, we're the same waist to a t huh?
hah, i suppose so. I wonder how these are going to fade.
hoping some of the ( ) around the thighs will tone down as well

31s hemmed to 33 inseam
I think I did okay with the fit considering I'd never tried on/seen a pair in my life

just got my Okinawas today! fit great, can't believe I nailed the sizing without ever seeing a pair of Canes before
now I wonder how these dirt dyed jeans will fade

Frisbee doesn't ship to the US in case you were considering that route

Anyone know the status on Hinoya?
they ship to the US with a no return policy. they also replied to my fluent Japanese in english hah not sure why

FRISBEE does not ship internationally. Too bad too 'cause they often times have rare sizes in stock!

it depends on lots of things.
* the rise of the jeans (most important; if they're low-rise, they'll sit at your hips, not waist)
* the way the jeans are sized (ie some low-rise jeans tagged 30" measure 32" since they're designed to be worn at the hips)
* how tight you want your jeans / how much they stretch
well I'm leaning towards SugarCane Okinawas, I emailed the president of the company on rakuten and he suggested I get my exact waist size, but I had measured my hips as my waist, so he suggested 32s
i read the whole sugar cane thread and it seems like getting your waist size or down one is recommended there
the rise is 15 inches I assume
thanks for your help, spending 200 dollars on something I've never even seen much less tried on is hard

your waist is 30" - 30.5"
your hips are 32"
so I should get 30'' jeans right? thanks

Well, where do you want your jeans to sit?
on my hips, not high
