  1. Mykita plastics:

regardless of whether Marlie is unisex or not, imo, it's just a poorly designed frame that fits neither men nor women.

Jack is great if you have a high nose bridge otherwise forget it.

Romy seems to be the "it" unisex frame for us, but Cedric and Enzo are unreachable.

  2. I love SALT. The dudes are going all out to give the public the best $hit possible. The new ophthalmics are a major step in the right direction and this Vance pair, the massive sunglasses frame pictured above, it's hand carved from a 10mm thick block of acetate and is not for girly men, that's for sure.

  3. Anyone copped the Raf X Linda Farrow joints yet?

I'm interested to see what people think of them in person...

We will be getin them soon. Out of all collabs this year, Raf's stuff looked the most appropriate. We are doing Dries Van Noten's sunnies as well and some new pieces from Branquinho and Williamson.

  4. Hopefully, they can help me find a pair, since I never really had a pair of glasses that I liked enough to wear more than my contacts daily.

Come in anytime. Sat and Sun can be hectic, but I'll be sure to find time to show you what we've got.

We are getting crazy shit from Japan in Jan-Feb, incuding some frames made of material I cannot mention publicly. Propodesign, SpecEspace, Spivvy and craftsman Yoichi's private line will become available in US for the first time. Well, except Spivvy, which is available at Facial Index in NY, it's parent company.

  5. I would not recommend to wear frames without lenses, vintage or otherwise. Non-Rx lenses are not as expensive as the real deal, look legit and do the job of protecting your blinkers from UV and glare. We sell about 5-6 a month this way, but most of people who shop with us are in need of real Rx, of course.

  6. Wait, new store in LA? Word? Huh?

Kiya and I have been chewing on this for some time now and, given retail Gods permit, we plan to open in LA either side by side or even under one roof. Needless to say it is a challenge, but we can definitely make it happen and with a bigger bang than your average firecracker.

    .

p.s. Thanks for customer service remark, means a lot.

  7. Kiya should stop buying from the discontinued bin in the back of the store, maybe THEN he'd see someone else wear same glasses. Last pair of DKNY frames he bought was discontinued back in 1997, He also likes Joseph Abboud framnes for their sexy/casual/comfort look.

Unlike Mr.Thrifto, I wear new styles only and regularly run into people, several times a day on a good day, that wear identical frames. I don't like to stand out.

p.s.. We might have to go to LA soon. Looks like we have 6 joints to examine. Details Thursday. I am moving today, tomorrow ahhhhhhhhh.....

  8. We don't advise to go with transition lenses - they are lame, expensive and to boot they just don't work.

And if you really think about it, the whole concept is bordering on ridiculous. Why would you want to compromise an opportunity to own a killer pair of shades?

  9. Am I looking at 2 different frames here? both are either vintage or vintage inspired. and one looks like a Blinde, with signature rivet construction. In either case, there is a style with similar contour, except the one I am familliar with is a bit softer around B measurement - upper and lower rim. Will post style name tomorrow. Sorry for tech lingo, I am writting in a hurry and have no time to explore civilian ways of expressing myself.

    Suits him very well, btw.

    Thanks for a "nice guy".

  10. Congratulations indeed - Is it dumb of me to ask if the handmades from NYC are still made in England or commissioned from american craftsmen?

Nothing is made in NY. US distributor is based in New York and he's the only guy in the country with color chips. Not for long. Claire's peeps are making a set of custom color chips for Spectacles for Humans. Once we have them, in 3 weeks approx., we will start offering our clients bespoke eyewear options similar to those offered at OG showroom in London.

  11. This bespoke OG bussines is driving me nuts. I get like 10-12 inquiries every week, and the problem is...I am not in fucking London. I am in San Francisco, talking to the guy in New York who is the only keeper of the custom color chips. There is no way I can feel kosher selling you stuff when I don't even know what the color looks like.

Anyway, I've got my first Couture piece in today, just to see what it feels like It's a chick's piece originally made for Audrey Hepburn and film "Two for the road", with that geezer Albert Finney. And I am blown away!!!!!!!

Things are gonna change now. I am asking Claire to hook me up with all color samples and we are gonna start offering the same service OG showroom provides by end of summer.

    Fatten up your wallets. a%20Stanley%20Donen%20Two%20for%20the%20Road%20Audrey%20Hepburn%20DVD%20Review%20PDVD_010.jpg

  12. Just to pour more acid in your OG inflicted wounds...:D We are doing Oliver Goldsmith Trunk Show on May 12th.

Oliver Golsdmith****Gotti****MYKITA. This one will reverberate for months.
