I no longer wear these boots so am hoping to pass them on to someone else. I purchased them new, and have had them for two years, though I've worn them infrequently due to being about a half size too small.

Sized as UK11, but I would recommend them for someone who wears a US 11-12.

PM or reply here if interested.

  2. Cross Posting from Samurai Thread

Sammy 710, bought in summer 2007 and they have seen everything from daily wear to infrequent use between then and now. Countless repairs (both professional and emergency fixes) with new ones showing up as well.

Don't think I can go back to lightweight denim after these...

  3. It's been a while since I've been around here, but I may be picking up a new pair of jeans for work today so figured I may as well update my Samurais.

  4. Im in london. Under the table jobs... anyone know anything?

I feel like the service industry may be the best bet, restaurants and the like, but I'm not opposed to manual labor too (who am I kidding though, this is sufu, anyone who reads this is probably built like a 12 year old girl).

Also, what is there to do here that doesn't cost (much) money?

  5. yea thank god i have narrow feet to be able to fit into those

Hate to ask but Im really stuck about what size to get the Fracaps in. I typically wear a UK11 in Vans, Nike, whatever, but talk about these being really narrow is making me thing maybe I should go for a UK12. My feet are pretty average as far as width goes. If possible I would rather stick with the smaller size aesthetically (and I figure leather will eventually stretch a bit), but I dont want to wind up with a boot I cant wear.

So for the people who own the Fracaps, would sizing up be the way to go? Or were you able to stick with your sneaker size?

  6. Middle aged korean women scare the fuck out of me.

I crossed a stale green walk sign and some lady gets a jump on the green light and drives straight at me, I assume not even noticing I'm there. Had to literally jump out of the way to not get hit. Then of course she lays on the horn, rolls her window down and starts bitching me the fuck out in korean while driving slowly next to me for a whole block.

I started telling her to fuck off in Japanese, before I realized she would have no idea what I'm saying.

  7. Speaking of tall Vivalo's I have a blue sparkle Vivalo that's 57.5 cm that I haven't ridden in a while and would consider selling or trading (60cm range for trades). The bike is in great shape, minus a standard top tube dent that you can see in the picture. Fork is undrilled, but I have a clamp on front dia-compe brake I'd thow in for maybe a bit extra. I also have a nitto technowhatever stem and sugino 75 bottom bracket (plus sugino 75 cranks dura ace chainring for extra)

pm me or something if you're interested. Help me get a track bike that fits.

  8. What the fuck is up with the Japanese reggae scene? Went to a reggae event last night in the 045 and shit was nuts. Fucking packed room and everyone knew all the lyrics and was just going crazy. I guess it was one of the guys from 湘南乃風, which somewhat explains why the energy level was way higher than it should have been for an event like that.

I just hung out with my friends not really paying attention to the music.

The highlight was when some tiny ass guy who probably has a complex pulled out a lighter and held it up in that stereotypical 'i'm listening to music' way, and I light my cigarette on it.

++ for being one of the biggest motherfuckers in this country.

Otherwise, I'm way down with Yokohama.

  9. I'm hoping this hasn't been mentioned, but for anyone with a grinder-

Throw it in the freezer for ~15 min, take it out, and slam it down a few times or hit it or whatever you feel like. When you're done, most of the kief from the screen will have fallen into the catch and voila.

went from absolutely no kief to enough to top 4 or so bowls with.

Just thought I'd share as I'm currently enjoying the results.

  10. Depht-

I've heard that about the career forums, and that's why I'm hesitant to even go, but I figure it's not like I'll be losing anything but time by going, and who knows, foreigners do go to it so even if we wouldn't be the focus there still might be opportunities floating around.

My Japanese is good, but not perfect. Conversations are probably my best area, though when things get overly academic or specific I occasionally have moments where I still find myself searching for words. I am a pretty decent reader, I'd can usually pick up a paper and read most of it, though if I'm using a dictionary or something I can get through most of it fine. I improve a lot when I'm actually using Japanese most of the day, which I haven't been for over a year now, so hopefully being in Japan will facilitate improvement.

    Rajio-

I've not applied for hyatt, though I sent an email to Claska, on a longshot and haven't heard anything. I guess that should be obvious from no hotel experience plus needing visa support though. I haven't really checked out any expat related areas, I'll need to do though. From my limited experience, though, I kind of get a sleazy vibe from most expat operations.

  11. Hey, I hate to ask this kind of shit, but I'm curious to hear some other opinions.

I'm graduating university in about a week, and I very likely will be heading to Japan on a tourist visa to stay with friends while I look for a job, mostly in Osaka, but in Tokyo too. There is the big bilingual Career Forum in early July in Tokyo that I might be going to, but it seems like most of the jobs it hooks up are typical mind numbing corporate/IT jobs.

So what I'm curious about is what some other good options would be to keep in mind while looking for work. I'll be taking and likely passing JLPT 1kyuu this winter, and I have work experience in Japan (moderately upscale restaurant) so my options are a bit more open than other foreigners.

Is there any chance of hotels or places of that nature supporting work visa's? I'd prefer not to go the ALT route, so have been considering translation work (tiny bit of experience, barely enough to count), or something more service-industry oriented, though I'm open to a lot of other options.

Let me know what you think, or if you know about anything, I'd be forever grateful. PM or on here works.
