Quick question regarding shrinkage on my new 47's. After a 1 hour warm soak the waist/ length / overall fit is good but the thigh is just slightly too loose. Supposedly they shrink up until the 10th wash so how much percentage wise would the initial soak have shrunk them width ways ? Are they likely to shrink say another quarter to half inch in the thigh when they are finally machine washed ?

Just got a pair of sugarcane 47 onewash. Are these 100% shrunk or will there be more shrinkage left in them ? Could do with losing half an inch width ways on the thigh and an inch length in the leg.

Not really, but then again, you don't have to have big thighs for them to thunder on sufu.
A soak will probably help... for an hour of so. Once they've stretched out, they're gonna stretch back to that state, and quite quickly too.
edit: I think they look good, slightly relaxed. I like that though. I don't think you need to be too concerned about how they look in a pic. When in motion, jeans tend to look better and fall better. You don't need to obsess over how parts of them fall at the instant you took your photo.
Agree. its posts like these that confirm to me people have become stupidly obsessed with finding the "perfect" dior model straight legs. Theres no hip flare in this pic at all. The thighs may stick out very slightly but thats the nature of denim draping and conforming to the average body type.

Whatyouknowabout - The problem with nudies is unless you size down the back pockets are huge which makes your rear end appear bigger. Also the front pic in particular makes your thighs look really big. I would say that slim jim is not the cut for you. Try average joe instead (size down 1). Also you'd be good with new standards or lvc 47's

I'm not sure how people define it but I'd recommend you to measure the waist of the pair of jeans that fit you the best/perfect and assume that that is your waist size (ie true to size). Measure all your pairs and you'll see that most of them will have about the same measurements in the waist (if you don't have pairs that is way too snug and/or loose) regardless of their tagged size.
That makes sense. So for example my jeans measure 32" then if someone says buy pbj-005 true to size then i should buy a tagged size 32" ?

What exactly is "true to size" ? Say my waist measures 32" where my jeans actually sit would a tagged size which actually measures 32" be true to size ? Or would a tagged size of 31" be true to size to account for an inch of stretch ? I'm confused and a definitive answer would be really helpful.

If you usually wear W32 jeans, I´d go for a W32 but only with 505s from the season
2007 because they fit true to size, older 505s fit slimmer in waist, then go for W34 I´d say.
THANKS ROB!!!
Thanks. Well i wear 29" in apc , 30" in nudie and i have lvc 55 in 32" which fits well after shrinkage

One more question regarding the 67 505 sizing. Where my jeans sit my waist measures 32" - 32.5". Which size do i need 30, 31 or 32 ?

Would you guys say this is how a 47 cut should fit typically AFTER shrinkage ? Looks slightly loose to me

Just looking for some sizing advice for lvc 1947 501. I wear a 29" in new standards and my waist, where my jeans sit, measures 32". Should i buy a 32" or 33" in the lvc for a decent fit which wont kill my hips ?

No, that's the one at TNT right?
I've tried it on, looks like shit on basically everyone. For that cash you could robo something better.
How does the fit compare to Baracuta ?

Can anyone compare the 44's with sugarcane 47's ? I have the canes and find they are quite big through the leg.

The thighs will stretch out, but I'm saying, and bare with my now, on the 32's, my thighs looked like they were squeezed into the jeans, and they looked like a fat chick in jeans too small.
No good. I could fit into them for sure, it wasn't even hard, they just weren't flattering.
I bet Rescues would be more flattering on you. I just think the ns cut isn't right for you

seems that description is a contradiction... it says theyre preshrunk... then it says theyre dry
obviously they are prewaashed being that they are 505s, so that dry explanation is probably just a default desripttion for all LVCs
Thanks. It seem their measurements are well off as well. They reckon the 32" waist has a 7" knee and 8" hem which would mke them bootcut ??

Ok i'm confused. I though the lvc 505 was from 1967 and also sanforized. According to this the 505 is 1966 and unsanforized

They produce nothing but shit these days. Each time new pictures surface I'm hoping this time it'll be something good again but no dice. It just seems to me they've completely lost the plot at this point.
I know what you mean. The footwear was shit this season though i think they saved themselves with the outerwear, especially the field jacket

what's weird is that I measured my waist in inches and it came out to about 33.5 inches, yet somehow a size 30 IH 634s fit my waist perfect, with about a fingers worth of room left in the waist for comfort. What's going on???
Because where you measured isn't your true waist size For example my waist is 31" just above my navel which gives you my true size. My waist, where my jeans sit, 3 inches below my navel is 32 - 33".

How do i measure for levis 1947 jeans ? Levis recommend going up 2 inches in the waist. My waist measures 31" at the slimmest part of my torso but where my jeans sit on my hips it measures 33" so which measurement do i go up from ? I'm assuming i should buy 32 , 33 or 34 but not sure which
