  1. Sorry its driving you mad paul :D I guess its down to how you want to wear them. I have 32's tagged which is my true size where my jeans sit and 34's tagged. I prefer the slim fit of the 32's where the legs mould more to my shape. The 34's are loose and antifit which is not my preference. I guess you prefer the looser look. Maybe you could post pics up of how you wear them ?

  2. I've never had a pair of 47's that measure less than tagged size. Maybe its something to with different measuring methods ? Anyway my current raw 47's from last year are tagged 32" which is my true stretch out size. After 4 washes in 40 degree they always stretch back out to tag size and maybe even a cm or two more. I believe the looser fits like 55's and 44's are an inch oversized but the 47's are bang on to tag size imo

  3. Yes, but they're slightly under tag size. Marked 34, actual size was 33, so they shrank down to just over 31. my second two pairs, from later seasons, were similarly slightly undersized.

I'm trying to get that look with my 201s, which are much looser. They're on the way, but I'll leave that first wash to at least 7 months.

oh, and thanks, glad you like em!

Hey Paul what size do you wear in other lvcs compared to 47's ? Specifically the 55's and 66's

  4. I believe this is from the s/s 06 collection. I brought it new from yahoo last year but have never worn it as its just a little small for me. All the quality you'd expect from Visvim and a great piece.

  5. Hey, just want to know some information on the LVC 1947 501xx. Wondering is it consider as low rise comparing to 1955??

Size for size they are pretty much the same. Both my raw 55's and 47's tagged 32" are no more than 11" front rise. I'd say thats a standard rise which sits about 2" below navel. The difference between the two is the 55's are much looser through the seat and legs.

  6. I just soaked a new pair of 47's yesterday. They fit ok except when i get up from sitting down or bending over the fabric sticks out at the rear where the back rise meets the yoke. It looks really bad from a side view and its bugging me. I've not had this from any other lvcs before. Is it the antifit / the way the back rise is cut / wrong size / will it settle with more washes ? Help !

  7. 45 RPM Sorahiko size 32, sized down one. These are definately not the most flattering jeans. I'd have to say that they fit like shit with the wide pockets and massive legs. But the denim is something else and they're really comfortable.

Sorry about the huge pictures, resizing was hard for some reason.

where are the legs massive ? Look ok to me.

  8. Harvard4 they'll be falling off you in a couple of days. I'm slightly heavier than you and my 30's fit great to start with, but after a couple of wears they were falling off my arse

  9. but those 505s are meant to be worn tight, i wish mine were tighter...

Yes you are right. I think the cut just probably isnt right for me. The rise is very high and its a very unforgiving cut especially in the top block. It doesnt seem like its a cut that can be worn low unlike 501s

  10. Just received a pair of 1967 505's in my true size of 32" and they feel pretty tight. I measured the waist and they're nearer to 31" than 32". Can anyone explain levis thinking behind this size discrepancy ? I'm assuming that because they're preshrunk (i think) they expect the jeans to stretch out to a 32" ?? Also can anyone confirm that they are actually sanforized / preshrunk or should i expect loads of shrinkage and therefore size up. Lovely denim on these by the way

  11. maybe you wanna jack up the pants a little eh? your sagging it too much its repro cut its suppose to sit on top of your waist just my .02$

+1. Repros can only work if worn on the waist imo. If you wanna sag buy some apcs

  12. Thanks for the reply Paul. Hopefully you'll be able to get an answer on this sometime. When you mention about basing it on the originals are you sayingat in the 40's and 50's levis put the exact same siznig tags on the jeans i.e increase your waist size by 2" etc ??

  13. Has anyone here ever found out from levis why they recommend sizing up on there lvc models ? If i took there advice and sized up 2" on my 55's and 44's i cant imagine how ridiculous and overly big they'd look. All my lvcs fit true to size with the exception of 47's but even these stretch out fine if worn true to size. Its been bugging me for a while so i thought i'd ask. Iirc Paul T mentioned a while ago that he was hoping to talk to the pattern maker and wondered if anything came of this.
