  1. I wear US 10.5 in Vans Slip-ons and I was wondering whether I should go with US10 or 9.5 in hi-top chucks.

I would have gone 10 in a heart beat but I tried my mates 10's on and they were a little looser than I expected (and looked a little like clown shoes). Would I be risking it if I bought 9.5's?

What size do you wear for chucks and vans.

    Cheers guys!

  2. Hey guys,

Being of irish heritage, I have telltale pale skin (with some freckles) and light blonde hair. Think of a hunky swedish guy ... minus the bronzed skin!

Now before you tell me to 'go get a tan' - it isn't quite as simple as this. I don't tan, I merely freckle.

Onto colours! I was wondering what other board members think look good on us fair-coloured peoples.

Previously, I have avoided black and most bright colours (think rocket red, lemon yellow, bright aqua) for fear that they all accentuate the fact that I am 'unfashionably' pale. Now, however, I'm not sure whether my avoidence of these colours is justified.

I generally stick with earthier tones and less 'in-your-face' pigments. I *think* these sorts of colours generally work well with my colouring.

I have also come to realise that white (particularly plain white tees) does not work well as it sort of just blends in with my colouring and I well and truly believe it accentuates the pale skin. I don't think it compliments me at all.

Having said all that, whats your take on things? What colours do you guys think looks good on fairer coloured guys like me?

    Thanks for any input peoples!

(PS. I also tend to think that pale-skinned people with darker hair can get away with more than fair skinned & haired people can as the black/darkness of their hair adds some sort of foundation for them to build colour schemes about - plus they can get away with black tops easily!).

  3. Dude you realy need that tee :)

caliroots.com they only have the brown one online but i was at their store 2 days ago and they had the one you looking for. Send them an email they ship worldwide. Do not know what size they had.

ahah yeah im aching for me!

tried emailing caliroots but no luck man!

    thanks anyway!

    someone must have a lead?

    cheers guys!

  4. I don't know where you're buying from, but in these here parts, you can get one where the top stripe is red, and the bottom one's darkish blue. Looks mad...

The only reason I'm not rocking a pair, matter of fact, is that I like to do great brutality to my Chucks, and leather's not nearly as washable..

    hey man,

i feel the red/blue stripe combo, but havent seen this in the leather model

    any leads?

    cheers

  5. lol, I wouldn't quite put it like that. I think the top button breaking is really my fault 'cause I just bought them too tight... seriously, they were hurting my stomach when I wore them. (I bought them after I'd lost like 7 kilos but I hoped they'd stretch out as I gained my weight back... they didn't). I'm pretty sure the top button woulda stayed on if I had gone 1 size up.

As for stitching coming off, nothing major has happend (it just looked a bit shitty and loose to me when I first posted this thread). After about 3 months of near everyday wear, the only real damage is the top button, everything else is fine.

And yeah, you guys are right, something with better denim would be better. I just bought them for the fit 'cause my APCs stretched out way too much (I shoulda read that damn APC thread!) and looked ridiculous after I lost all that weight... so I just bought 'em while I was waiting to get some Imperials.

However, I still really like 'em for the fit... I mean, they are what they are; people wouldn't complain that Cheap Monday are shit quality for the price... they're cheap jeans. I'd put the Haws in the same category as CM.

If any of you guys can tell me where I can get a better quality pair (in Melbourne) that fits me like that and isn't some $410AUD diors then please educate me, 'cause that's what I wanted all along.

anyways, I still like 'em! BAM!

    Hey there matey,

I have the exact same pair in 29 waist (I wear 29 in Nudie).

My observations on the jeans have been much the same as yours (thin denim, stitching coming loose, etc.).

I was out maggoted the other weekend and when I woke up the following morning and I realised the top button had popped off.

I brought them back to Bobby's and the dude put a new (larger) button on. Like you, I probably should have opted for a size larger.

In terms of getting a quality pair of jeans in Melbourne (at a reasonable price), I still can't fault my Nudies. Check out some raw indigo in either Thinn Finn or Super Slim Kim for a fit that is similar to out Hem & Haw (I wear Slim Jims in Dry Black but I got the legs tapered in a little so they fit like the kims).

    Hope this helps brother.
