  1. I love these jeans but I've got some issues with them.

    1. The pocket bags are to cheap a fabric, they've almost worn out.

    2. I've had to re-stitch the back pockets as they where on there way to coming off.

    3. I blew out a seam on the hip. Now I have a big hole.

    4. The top button is coming loose, I'm scared I'm going to loose my precious samurai button. :(

Despite all of this I still think they're good jeans. I tend to be somewhat hard on my denim and this isn't so bad. My usual problem is the denim itself tearing so at least these repairs are easy. I'd like to get some 5000bk's after all this is done.

  2. So for a Pista you could just switch out the hub and replace it with a flip-flop hub and you could go fixed or free? Where do the bikes that you used to ride as a kid with the push back oin pedals braking fit in? Canice you are quite knowledgable by chance would you know any bike shops to goto buy parts/ get help in Calgary, from all I have seen its mainly mountain bikes with the occassional street bike mixed in? Would you recommend any online shops that are in Canada?

If anyone would know I would guess Bowcycle, Ridley's Cycle in Kensington, or The Bike Shop on 11th. Not sure if you've ever been but Bowcycle is huge and there staff are pretty knowledgeable.

  3. soba for me ... something with thick noodles...

Soba are buckwheat noodles I believe. About spaghetti sized.

    I do love udon though.

Never had what would be considered really good Raman I'm sure, but a little Japaneses cafe near me provides me with lunch on a regular basis. There is a guy in town that make Soba but so far I haven't had anything on the menu I really like.

    I vote Ramen

  4. It could easily be something off-site such as the judges. I think that is a good idea. Maybe they could decide on which jeans to eliminate every day or two.

Or we could put a small modification to our website to allow voting.

It would be pretty easy for a bunch of people's friends to vote for their pair if it was a public no-register anonymous type of thing.

I wouldn't do elimination as the point is to see if someone who doesn't wash till month six has better looking jeans then someone who washes monthly. Still I think having judges rather then open voting is better. Besides someone could always go to another forum they frequent and get hundreds of people to vote for them. I've seen it done before.

  5. I'm sure I'm gonna blow the crotch in mine.

I was also wondering about the voteing process. It seems like this could be rigged so that people could just get there friends to vote on their jeans. Seems like it could be a bit of a popularity contest. What if it was set up with like 5 judges or something else equally impartial. I think this would keep the playing field even.

  6. if you are asking you dont have a chance.

You give these chicks way to much credit, they can be played just as easily as any other. While you can't teach a person how to have game some tips to someone who's not a total reject can help.

  7. There's a lot of people counting on me to be a certain way and do certain things and I have a hard time living up to all those expectations.

No offense to the people expecting you to be a certain way, but fuck 'em. You have to live your life for you. Its not like there expecting you to go to med school, come up with a cure for cancer and save a family members life. Just because they want you to do something doesn't mean you have to, especially for a life long commitment like that.

I've never understood families that try to run each others lives like that. They should want you to be happy.

  8. There should be a tea house that sells loose leaf tea in most major cities. I have one down the street from my house where I can buy from something like 200 different varieties. This includes Matcha and a few types of yerba mate.

  9. those AF60s are on the plaza last------i am wearing them now; i sprinted on icy sidewalks for a few blocks in them this morning. yesterday, i wore alden chukkas on the barrie last in the same size. i have to say that the plaza fits my feet perfectly. the barrie, not so much.

What do you find to be the difference. I'm looking at the AF72 as my number one pick but might go for the AF60 if they aren't a good fit. I really do want the wingtips though......

  10. Lawwwry, don't start watching the wire unless you have nothing important to do. I have to make sure I have no real responsibilities looming(exams etc.) if I'm gonna start a season. My gf got hooked on it to. Definatly worth the watch.
