  1. I've been looking at the Russels as a winter boot for quite some time now but it's to late to make a custom order and have them before the season ends. They can take 18 weeks and last time I checked they wern't doing the rush orders anymore. All I can do is sit at home and look through the catolauge I have.

  2. No AF60's in a 9.5D at AoC. I have to wait for March or April before they have a restock. I wanted dressy boots with a commando sole for winter and now I'm screwed. I'm pissed and now the money I saved will be spent on something lame like glasses when I should have some rad boots.

What a fucking pain in the ass. Maybe I buy the wrong size and just live with it. Is this a retared solution? I'm consumed by these boots.... :(

Hmmm apparently the really retarded thing is not trying them on all together. As luck would have it I live but a 10 minute walk from the only Alden retailer in Canada. I explained my situation and as they didn't carry any boots except for the Indy they had me try on a variety of shoes in several last and materials. Turns out I'm a half size smaller then previously though.

I would like to add. The number 8 colour is amazing in person, chukkas in the #8 on now on my hit list.

  4. It looks to me like they painted fabric white and yellow to look like selvedge. What else would I be on about?

The fabric is finished on the edge hence"selvedge" it's about how its woven not the colour of the edge. If it was jet loomed it would have to have some sort of stitching to prevent the fabric from fraying.

  5. Not really expecting much, late to post, my aunt took the pictures for me. I thought I'd throw them up just to have some completion to all this. All in all I probably only got about half the amount of wear I should have. I put on about 15-20 pounds and just wasn't able to wear these, plus I had given them up for repair for a bit.

EDIT: I'm aware it's to late to be in for the vote, I can move this post to the other Samurai thread if requested.

  6. it's amazing how people can confuse one-wash with sanforized

I'm amazed that people are even concerned outside of basic reasons like sizing and maybe that sanforized sheen people like on there Nudies. It should all some down to the fact that they haven't been sent to a laundry for pre-distressing. They are in a basic state one-wash, sanforized or raw and ready to be worn in.

  7. Was he talking about APC being one-wash? If so, they're not...they're sanforized, making them "preshrunk". You have to wash/soak raw jeans that aren't sanforized...onewash just means the initial wash/soak was done for you.

Yes he was and yes you are correct about that. He also goes on to state that while APC is "one-wash" and should be excluded that brands like Samurai should be included even though they must be wash/soaked before wearing. It's amazing how many people lack basic reading comprehension.

edit: to explain that first quote from headcoat is actually soonami's post on mens style.

  8. comment from a user for the APC -

"These are not the best raw jeans, because they are not raw, they are one-wash (preshrunk.) There are many other arguably better raw denim jeans such as those made by: Samurai, Sugar Cane, Iron Army, The Flat Head, Eternal, Pure Blue Japan, etc."

Ridiculous. All those Japanese jeans cost much more than the NS, and the only one in its price point there is Iron Army which is one of the shittiest, ugliest brands out there.

When all is said and done, with price/value, availability, fit, and quality is concerned APC NS is worthy of being #1. Its a modern classic that shits all over many jeans twice its price.

I'm neg repping soonami for his uneducated comments on another website. Is this wrong? If he's going to go around spouting shit he should be informed. You have to wash all those Japanese jeans before you wear them hence making them "one-wash".

  9. The zero shrinks more - after 3 or 4 washes..Texas cotton is done after the first hot soak...

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with this. I soaked my Texas cotton jeans in two changes of water for something like 5 hours the first time and they weren't even close to being finished. They where still shrinking even after my third wash. Granted I was getting fatter but not that much!

  10. Beautiful jeans folks, I'm very upset that mine have shrunk to unwearable proportions, not to mention a 20 pound weight gain! My inability to measure correctly and the fact that I quit smokng I' decided to donate mine to my 17 year od cousin, maybe I can make him an addict.

  11. Not that I'm one to feed trolls but how does someone who came into a thread spewing hate get to call everyone else haters. Also another example of his hypocrisy would be the crooks jeans and the miners, chucks vintage comments.

Beautiful suit Kiya hope it doesn't do to much damage to that nice white shirt underneath.

    Best wishes.

  12. i used to be a grocery bagger, and bagging in paper bags was like playing tetris without the egyptian music.

Yeah pain in the ass. Then I had the people who had me double bag with paper inside of plastic. They wanted handles for there paper bags.

Edit: Also I use tote bags when I remember to take them. Safeway sells reusable bags for 99 cents a pop. Seems like a lot of are people are using them.
