I was going to try to have my shovel done for Born Free but i'll be leaving for Africa 4 days before the 30th. I won't be back until some time in October. It's a big bummer but oh well, there's always next year.

Denim phenom is upset because he couldn't quite manage to jump on the engineer boot bandwagon
Yeah, that's it. Oh wait, I've been wearing the same pair of Red Wing 2970s for about two years now. Bandwagon deez nutz homie.

Can someone PLEASE explain to me the draw behind oxfords?
I think it's funny to sit back and watch the "bandwagon" boots/shoes in this thread.

Street cred ain't cheap.

I want ones with a waffle/crepe sole from them. And a pair of their bobcats. Everything on the viberg-japan is awesome. Well, except the oxfords, which are a disgusting shoe. Period.

$1000 for resoled engineer boots at HTC, no thanks. I'll pass. Mister freedom didn't have shit either. Well, they had a wall of what they called engineer boots when it was just western boots without straps.
Really disappointed. Looks like I'll get a custom pair from Viberg.
Ps. LA and its traffic can suck it.

Those are nice but probably too big for me and i'm not looking to spend that much on boots anymore. Plus, i'm just going to resole whatever I get with a crepe sole anywho so no sense in spending a bunch of cash on something i'm going to retrofit.

am I just too much of a newb to be a bit shocked that the Mister Freedom Engineer boots cost $950.? dont get me wrong,m they are nice, but I would think at that price, a Wesco would fit the bill a bit better.
I've never liked them. The ankle strap is way too high. I really like the fit and toe profile on my Red Wing 2970.
I called Mister Freedom and they have a pair of Mason engineer boots in my size. I'm driving down to sell my M6 and if they don't have any then i'll drive down to HTC. I need to get a pair of pants hemmed so might as well knock out two birds with one stone.
Then i'm going to Sunrise Cycles. Not like you guys really want to know my whole schedule.

Hey SXE, how exactly does one mosh or stage dive with those? Or do you wear those to the show and then take them off outside and put on some dunks to mosh it up?
I'm totally kidding.

Does anyone know a good place in LA for engineer boots? Be it vintage or new.

You'll be fine.

Turn that story into a best seller then, but please don't repost a tatty old pair of trainers in here.
Wait, didn't you just repost them?

Good luck, I couldn't sell a pair of lightly worn ones for $200.

The cap toe on those engineer boots is ugly.

877, almost 1 year in.
What kind of jeans are you wearing?

A pair of those 2941s are definitely in my future. Wish they made them in black.

Double midsole..I think they look okay. I just don't like Red Wings, I think if they were Wescos or Whites people would be over it..
Nah dude, platforms went out in America the day the funk died.
Regardless of company, they are all ugly.

I don't understand platforms.

Early morning ride to work resulted in the low side crash and 2 hairline wrist fractures looks like I'll be out for six weeks. Ffffuiuuuuuuu
That sucks man, here's to a speedy recovery.

Mother fuck. Are you kidding me? That's insane! If I ever own a harley, which i probably won't. It'll be a shovel or an ironhead. That thing is gorgeous? I thought wifey banned you from bikedom no?
She did but then I basically told her that it was a deal I wasn't going to pass up.
The bike is completely apart now since I wanted to inspect the frame and start from the ground up. That I could know exactly what I was working with. The oil tank has a small dent and so does the gas tank. Kinda bummed.

I miss you Coleslaw and your boots that I covet so.

Sweapea,
Red Wing does have smaller sizes in their engineer boots and I do believe they make women's ones as well. They might also be taller than the men's 11".

Thanks for the feedback! I'm going to try and find a pair to try on locally if I can, as I am unsure of sizing!
I have the Cat's Paws on my Indys: fwiw they are very comfortable, but they seem to be wearing quickly, and can get slippery. For our Ottawa winters, they are an improvement over the original double leather, but I think I will go to a partial commando style sole the next time around!
Yeah dude, engineers are super comfortable. You won't be disappointed. I wear them way more than I ever wore my Indys. Putting commando soles on there would make sense, especially in that weather. Chicken, for those who remember him, put brown/tan commando soles on his Indys years ago.
