  1. the jeffery west shoes are great. a little more beat up than i would personally prefer but very nice nonetheless. if you wouldn't mind sharing some more details on where you picked them up, price range etc (from what i can find online seems to be gbp80-150?) as well as taking some more pictures of those i'd be most appreciative.

  2. I saw Corpus Christi jewelry this weekend. It was quite nice. I may end up picking a silver bracelet, designed to look like interlocking vertebrae.

this sounds awesome. do you know of a website where we can see the designs? or alternately where is this stuff sold?

  3. Actually Louis Vuitton died before the 19th century started and I think they started making shades only recently, like the past 10 years. Anyways staying on topic like we should be, does anyone else know?

hahaha cute editing job. anyway, i think dior might have some aviator sunglasses that are similar to the ones in that image. marc jacobs has these this season, they have the top white part but not what appears to be the thick cross piece in that image:

  4. what kind of people typically work/shop at UO?

from my experience their most loyal customers are mainly people who want to look like they care about how they look, but they dont care enough to actually be creative about what they wear and where they get it. also strongly represented are the teenagers with pockets full of mom and dad's money who still like to steal shit.

as far as the people who work there, they appear to be pretty much the same people as above except they look miserable all the time, and often if they dont like your style their disdain is palpable. (full disclosure, ive never experienced this firsthand, ive always gotten okay service...but ive seen other people get ignored, brushed off, lied to about what's in stock, etc)

obviously this doesn't describe every single person who has ever stepped into or worked at uo, and all of this is very much dependent on where the store is located. for example clientele is much less predictable at stores near college campuses.

i dont hate uo; i will go into their stores to kill time/look for bargains. however i would certainly hate to be a salesperson there.

  5. im cleaning out some random stuff and thought some people might be interested in these pieces before i go to ebay.

    paypal only.

    prices include usps shipping.

    for the coat and sweater:

-sleeves are measured from the cuff to the attachment at the body.

-length is measured from midpoint of shoulder to hem.

vintage english wool coat with epaulets: $50

nice heavy wool. fully lined. totally suitable for dressy nights too. im only selling this bc i dont wear it enough and i figure someone else can get more good out of it.

    measurements:

    shoulder to shoulder 18"

    pit to pit 20.5"

    length 41"

    sleeve 25"

    woolcoat.jpg

lord and taylor merino wool cardigan: $50

    tag size xl.

deep black merino wool. buttons all the way up. absolutely beautiful, wish it wasn't xl.

    measurements:

    shoulder to shoulder 22"

    pit to pit 23.5"

    diesel zathan 34x30: $40

oh no, diesels on superfuture?!?! anyway perhaps someone out there will be interested in these given the rock bottom pricing, otherwise they'll just sell on ebay.

the zathan is a bootcut jean. funky diesel-style brown wash.

the hems are a little ripped up at the back from dragging on the ground.

the dark blue creases in the pictures are just from the jeans hanging in my closet and getting pressed up against other stuff.

    measurements:

    waist 17.5"

    rise 10"

    inseam 30"

    thanks for looking :)

  6. unless you are a skeletal 15 year old japanese dude i would recommend against ordering anything sz small from hare. i tried on a sz medium drape shirt of theirs and the shoulder width was so narrow that i almost tore the damn thing in half. i dont think their sizing is generalizable as 'asian sizing' though.

  7. that site reinforces my conviction to never own a pair of converse chuck taylors or any similar shoes with that retarded looking white capped toe. also the first picture at the top of this thread looks like someone sprayed diarrhea on his shoes and he decided to cherish the memory forever

  8. japan uses the same style power plugs as the us so plug converters shouldnt be necessary. they run on some weird voltage but my computer worked fine over there, and a camera i bought there works fine here. i didnt really plug anything else in so i cant provide a fully authoritative opinion on that whole thing though.

learning to speak japanese would be good since youre staying there for so long. if you can learn to read some katakana and hiragana i think you'd have a much better time. strictly speaking though, you can get by with english and a very basic repertoire of japanese.

  9. that dark grey looks like it might actually be more purple than youre expecting. i'd go with the black.

edit: hmm it might actually just be crappy product photography since the light stripes look very different in all of them. or maybe they are different, i dont know. anyway yeah black
