  1. Does anyone have an easy way to make a tab? I am thinking a green tab would look perfect on the back but I'm kind of lost as to how to construct one.

wildstyle's tab looks like it's just a piece of green cordura nylon (maybe canvas?), but i can't tell...

regardless of the material: a) procure material, B) take a seam ripper and undo about .5" of seam on the pocket, c) position tab, d) hand sew seam, affixing tab in the process.

    eazy peezy!

  2. When the waist stretches out, does anyone find that the low rise becomes a problem (i.e., their ass starts hanging out, or the jeans start hanging _too_ low)? I am already not sure if I like the low rise, and have been thinking about exchanging or selling the Somets (I have black 008s in a 28); and while it's basically Ok right now, I am pretty worried about how they will look when they stretch a little in the waist.

if you're wearing a belt, you shouldn't have any problems...

  3. - 10 minutes before he gets tricked by the undead/vampire guys by stepping in a quite elaborate (psychological even) trap he says that one exposed himself to sunlight and that it appeared as if they have devolved away from even their basic survival instincts???

yeah... he didn't say anything about survival instincts, but something about the last remnants of human societal structure where now gone. even when he said that, though, i thought he was fundamentally misinterpreting things: the zombie guy who briefly exposed himself to the sun was pretty obviously upset that neville captured the woman zombie -- hardly the action of an unsocialized figure.

  4. i just read that the waist was 15.5'' on a 26, had heard they run large and went for it. i normally wear a 29 or what equates to it in most other brands. if you wanna put it that way, i did size down 3.

i'm curious where you read this...

blue in green's measurements indicate that a 28 measures 31" (15.5 x 2), and my own experience with two pairs of somets bears out their sizing advice: go down one size. if you normally wear a 29, you should've bought the 28, it sounds like?

    keep us posted!

  5. Those look pretty good, although I recognize your concerns as valid.

On another note, does anyone have any photos of 003s in action?

browse this thread. sam113 has a pair, and any pics of the somet blacks or whites are the same cut as the 003.

  6. dude, they have a danners website and you dont need to buy from japanese site so simple

    www.danner.com

and its free shipping on all orders in the U.S.

the danners that are being quoted are not available directly from danner either at their factory store or online. they are limited releases made by danner but not sold by them.

the boot that boot is based on is the mountain light II, which you can buy directly from danner.

  7. after 2 hot soaks, a warm wash and tumble dry, i thought these things had seen the bulk of their shrinkage. i wore them for about 5 weeks straight and they got really baggy, esp in the waist. they had siginificant knee buldge as well...

i sort of gave up on the idea that i would like the fit and decided to just sort of treat them like any old pants. i threw them in with my laundry and told the guy at the laundromat to wash them separately, inside out with a drop of detergent and tumble dry hot.

i picked them up today and they are like different jeans. the waist came in even more (probaly a total of 4 in now), the thighs and seat tightened up and the length shrank a bit more as well...

they now have a rougher, slubbier texture than they did and some of the wear is now a brighter indigo.

thanks nightdeposit - that's great news. my pair is a little bigger than i'd like, and prior to wearing them i'd gone through the same mult-soak + hot wash/dry routine that you did... hopefully they'll tighten up a bit when i wash next month!

  8. at what point does he trot out anything to defend calling me retarded.

he can pull out your entire posting history and it's pretty much case closed...

  9. good one, far more clever than anything i've ever come up with. you are a faggot.

now at which point do you trot out the "i was calling him a bundle of sticks!" defense?

    get banned, stay banned.

  10. you don't have feelings for me :(

you're right about the reference though. jmatus, is that what was bothering you?

i just didn't want to cloud up my logic in that particular post with the deep and abiding affection i have for you, michael.

    btw, what does "chuuuuurch" mean?

  11. lowery you should be demoted or at the very least give yourself an infraction. i often think you do not have the temperament nor the aptitude necessary to moderate. out of any moderator here you have got to have the biggest ego (carl has his moments, but he's still a kid). if you are gonna moderate, than shut up and do so fairly. make like wayne and be part of the administration so shut your pie hole, do your job and stop desperately trying to post like the rest us non-mods. you're like the rent-a-cop who enforces policy that suites his own agenda...or who buys beers for certain minors he favors.

i have no feelings about mike lowrey either way, but j this is probably not the post to fixate on. he's pretty clearly referencing the DUM is a bitch thread that countach started.

    two questions, though:

    1. how did you get unbanned?
    2. how do you have 7000 fucking posts?

  12. I mean, diddy could've just taken a more hands off approach to moderating and made it a bit easier on himself. I think his ego may have gotten the best of him in certain verbal bouts (in threads and via PMs) with certain members. Gotta realize that it's not worth getting upset over. There will always be some who pick on those in charge, it's just how it is. It's all about how you carry yourself and react to it. I don't know all the facts, but from piecing things together, i'd say diddy could've handled things a bit better (being the mod and therfore supposed bigger person).

Did he quit sufu altogether or just moderating? I haven't seen a post of his in a few days. Hopefully, he's just taking a few weeks off and then will come back and be a quality poster again without the burden of mod.

this is blowing my mind. "a more hands off approach to moderating?" i think that was the problem. some posters got away with spewing absolutely worthless bile for so long (and we all got used to it) that when mods stepped back in people flipped.

and diddy's ego? dude had a job to do. he did it with humor and intelligence and was mostly fair about it. i don't think he left because someone hurt his feelings -- he probably left because the job stopped being fun. that's too bad.
