  1. Gosh, almost three years and now I dig out these jeans again, after having lost some weight and gotten them repaired, also at least two years ago. So they are, well resuscitated probably is the word. Smell a little musky, typical second hand type of smell since they've been unused for so very long. But the feel of the denim still is great, and they are going to be given some fresh love at long last. Before anyone asks: no chance for pics for the time being, technical reasons.

386 is incommunicado for so long now that I've almost given up. But the jeans stay as a memento!

  2. Thanks mate, I'm very fond of them, of course there's sentimental reasons too with them being my first pair of selvedge, and my first Japanese pair.

I'm in half a mind whether to stitch the seam back, or patch from inside or out - I do suspect that if I stitch the seam it'll eventually happen again, whereas if I patch them it'd reinforce.

It happened yesterday while going to sit on the floor. Riiiiippppp!!!

I take it these are the ones you wore freeballing? That's another reason to be sentimental about them.... I'd have the seam stitched back with strong yarn, an outside patch will not look good, an inside one possibly feel less than pleasant when wearing them tight on the bare skin.

  3. Hey gals and guys -

very impressive list of recommendations for Berlin, I feel there's nothing to add.

Except for my offer of proxy service from here, in case anyone wants to acquire something and can't actually come here him-/herself.

Prime denim, alas, is hardly really cheaper than elsewhere, though there's the odd sale here and then.

Hit me up with a PM if you need anything.

  4. Sounds like a project to seriously anticipate.

I voted for the FH 3001, IH 634s and Skulls. Would I be pressed to prefer only one, it would have to be the Skulls, but with a slightly larger leg opening. Deff no higher rise.

If the announced reasonable price is a serious promise, I absolutely want one of your first run! Sign me up, if you will, please, and keep us informed.

  5. Then again, it's pretty disgusting to wear someone's sweaty jeans...

Actually, you'd be surprised how many hardcore raw denim deads would disagree, air them, freeze them, but not wash them. It's all a question of your priorities. People easily disgusted don't wear their jeans for very long without washing in the first place (my experience), let alone buy used ones, washed or not.

  6. Yeah; the grass is greener very probably. Thanks for replying anyway. I like my jeans real tight, and whenever there's too much of a paunch abvove the beltline, it ain't a pretty picture.

Let's hope we can both cope with our respective situations successfully!

  7. I'd never iron any jeans, period. If I were you, I'd lie them flat and even out the knee part with my flat hand, nothing more. The "boobs", as you call them, should be a desirable part, a kind of 3D effect, of worn in jeans.

  8. @ BoboMax:

Though I can't really make them out (the lighting of your pics, as you say yourself...) what I can see and what you describe sounds fine to me. "Painted on" is often used referring to really tight jeans, and that's meant as very desirable. Tightness around the thighs means you will have to have considerable patience, as they don't get the same "pressure" there as if they were as tight on your butt.

If I were you, I'd just wear them, no special "widening exercises". Some day in the future, you'll be glad.

  9. Are these two tight on me? They are 2 month old PS sized down 2.

No way are they too tight. Look great to me, repped! And I would'nt even wear them lower, but go right on the way it's shown here.
