the jacket is in perfect condition. The pants are not, there is pilling near the cuffs. They have been worn a couple times, the jacket has been worn once.

  3. Found this chambray thrifting, the tag and buttons are weird, but the shirt is otherwise well made, with alot of chainstitching (or similar)

thought the buttons to hold the pockets open was interesting, i feel like i recall seeing an lvc item with that rainbow patch.

Im guessing based on no big E and the white tag this shirt dates from the 70s?

  7. cross-posted from the mountaineering boots thread, still trying to figure out the best way to treat the dry leather. Let me know if you have any advice...

Found these in my basement, belonged to my dad at some point but he never wore then so they are brand new. Any advice for which leather products to use on these? The leather is very dry from sitting in a closet for years, I have Obenaufs oil and LP but I'm not sure which to use...

If the soles feel like hard plastic, i would not wear them. I had a similar vintage pair of boots and the soles cracked right through at both balls of the feat, ruining both boots

  8. Keep in mind, vintage boots, if the rubber sole has become hard and brittle, you will crack it when you walk in them. I found a pair of deadstock boots at a local value village where the vibram sole had become hard, and the first time i wore them they cracked along the sole perpendicular to the length of the boot near the ball of my foot, all the way through to the inside, through the leather insole even!

  9. I think my balls have reached the last straw. they want a roomier jean

Ive worn stf 501s and then lvcs for the past 4 years.

What i dont like about the 47s, other than the cock fade, is that it seems to taper from the waist to the knee, and then flare out again.

I thought the 501 was a true, straight fit.

I really havent paid any attention to jeans for a couple years now. Can someone suggest a pair of roomy in the crotch jeans that dont flare out from the knees?

should i be looking at something that tapers from the knee then?
