you know...the inside stuff they don't tell you on the interview.

    Any insight is most appreciated.

    Thanks.

  4. Calling all industry people:

My company is looking for a US factory to help launch our new line of

    1. cut & sew tees

    2. polos and

    3. track jackets for Spring 07.

We are looking for a domestic (US) factory to handle sampling first,

and to proceed with the production run afterwards.

We are factored and ready to go.

If anyone has contact info, opinions or experience dealing with a domestic factory that can handle the sampling, production, ticketing and packing, please let me know.

My website is currently showcasing our previous efforts that was available in L&T.

We've gone in a new direction with our latest stuff and I'd be happy show some of the new line to those who can give us a lead on a factory.

    Peace,

    Rich

  5. 1. Midnight Run (IMO, the most underrated comedy, ever.)

    2. Life is Beautiful (I can only hope to be this good of a father to my son)

    3. 13th Warrior (Norsemen rule! hey-I grew up reading Thor comics)

    4. Godfather 1 & 2 (#3 never happened)

    5. Star Wars Original Trilogy (when I was 4, 7 and 10, these were the best movies ever.

I tried watching them recently and there's something missing...maybe it's the action figures...and McDonald's glasses..)

  6. what's up RockN, it's been a while.

    How've you been?

anyway, I agree with those that say do NOT do the piet mondrian (Partridge Family) motif. with you being a creative type, I suggest decorating your space with things that inspire you. you can try putting floating bookshelves all around and put your favorite things on them. Mugs, posters, toys, sneakers, whatever inspires you.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I spent a lot of my dorm years in my room and it should be a comfortable space. Mine wasn't, as I had to share it with a 6' Child of the Corn, but anyway, make sure you set up some kind of aroma control. Everybody nukes Ramen noodles for breakfast lunch and dinner and after a while that shit stinks.

Use incense or you can buy the battery-powered ones that have the gel re-fills. They worked wonders at my school. we had one kid who smelled so bad, his clothes left him for another person. lastly, don't do track lights, you're not opening a gallery. the lights are harsh and reflect badly on your computer monitor. if you read in bed they hurt your eyes and they collect a shitload of dust. get a cheap floor lamp. enjoy school and keep RockN.

  7. Another good suggestion.

I work in the garment district and I've heard some interesting feedback with regards to tradeshows lately.

    1. Bread & Butter: the person who attended reported very low attendance and overall poor management of the show itself. Confusion over location of exhibitors also contributed to an overall poor experience.

    2. Project NYC: again, low attendance, although the NYC heatwave may have been a contributing factor. also, reported was lack of buyers. the person who attended reported that there seemed to be more exhibitors lurking around other exhibitors booths that there were buyers writing business. it also seemed that each booth every booth had the same product. the back area that houses the independent up and coming labels also had poor visibility and was "forgotten" unless you mistakenly wandered back there.

I realize that every person has a different opinion. The shows probably rocked for the majority of attendees, but even if they did have plenty of traffic, you still need a knowledgable sales rep to interact with the buyers and interested parties entering the booth. Also, a rep plays a key factor in writing business in between trade shows.

I'm still looking to hear from a rep on SF.

  8. That's an interesting approach.

It seems that finding out the buyers name can

sometimes be more difficult than it seems it should be.

I'm going to dig in my old toy box for that detective shield I through out a long time ago.

Even still, buyers, in general, like dealing with reps that they've dealt with before.

Those relationships can cause a buyer to take a chance on a new line.

By the way, we've re-tooled the new Spring 07 stuff.

New processes, new techniques, new concepts...

  9. I am reaching out to Superfuture with the following:

How/ where do you find reliable,

experienced sales reps to sell your line of tees & polos?

The target market is open to:

Sneaker/ Skate shops, urban stores, boutiques, dept stores, etc.

I was able to sell my line for this season to Lord & Taylor without a rep.

It was a lucky situation in which a friend actually knew the buyer,

but I have been unable to find sales reps to expand the business.

    I have the following:

    1. Spring 07 line of tees & polos for men and a ladies line.

    2. Factored production company that is backing us.

    3. Web-store.

    4. Spring/ Summer 06 stock available for immediate delivery.

    5. Passion to make this a true success story.

Any help or info is appreciated.

The Spring/ Summer 2007 line is not the website.

For the new lines and more info, Sales Reps can reach me directly via e-mail: [email protected]

    Thanks,

  10. Here is your mission, if you chose to accept it:

I am looking for a backpack that has a seat built into it.

(Not the cheesy camping ones that you can easily find online.)

Something cool, effective & stylish, that I can use during my hour-

long train commute when there are no seats available.

My back and I would be eternally grateful for the right info.

    Thanks,

    Dagsolo
