I just shot this fashion layout at some of Seoul's cool guy shops. This is what the hotties in Seoul are wearing:

Hey,
I'm trying to visit the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia in July. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go or what to see? I was thinking about going around the islands by boat. Does anyone know a reputable company that does this?

Hey for anyone interested, I just compiled the biggest ever Seoul bar listing ever created in English. You can find electronica clubs, hip hop clubs, salsa, live music and jazz bars, wine bars, pubs, underground bars. You name it! It's all here. If you're headed to Seoul and want to find a groovy watering hole, look at this link:

Happy clubbing and have a drink for me!

Don't know if you're going to Thailand, but Railay Bay near Krabi is awesome. You can dive and rock climb and the beach is AMAZING! Shopping at Siam square in Bangkok is cutting edge and trendy.
I could give you a list a mile long about Seoul shopping since I live there, but you can also check out the website I run. I recently compiled the best and biggest bar section ever made in English.
It's been a while since I toured the rest of Asia, so I can't really offer any more updated advice about any other country. Have a great time on your tour!

The quality at Doota has gotten better. You'd be surprised. Ever since they opened the Cheonggyecheon stream, many areas have experienced a renaissance.
Anyway, Doota and all those other places are definetly for people who like to dig for clothes and not for people who don't have imagination. If one doesn't have a stylist's instinct, one can walk out of a place like Doota looking ridiculous.
There is alot of treasure hidden in the trash. But yes, market shopping isn't for everyone, and there isn't always good stuff to buy either.
I haven't been to Japan yet for shopping. I'd love to go, but I'm sure I'll hate the high prices.
Any shopping suggestions for Japan?

To all the haters,
The only reason i put up links to my site is because I couldn't figure out how to post photos and it was easier to paste the link. If I was spamming, as some of you say, I was obviously barking up the wrong tree. I thought people on this chatboard might be interested in life and fashion in another part of the world. (supershoppers? superjetsetters?) I was wrong. Some of you are just super immature kids who have nothing better to do but insult people you don't know on anonymous chatboards. Grow up.
I'm outta here.
Peace out
Carrie
P.S. this chatboard is a scary place for girls, no wonder.........

Oh, sorry M2,
M2 is a club in Hongdae that has alot of big DJ's. It's cool, but it doesn't get started till LATE and it's kind of far. Alot of fashion people, artists and models hang out there. Club Garden in Apkujong is another good spot.
Both of those clubs have a somewhat in the closet gay scene, hence the fashion people..

Adidas is big in Seoul for some strange reason, but I didn't really like their most recent stuff for spring. Excuse my ignorance, but What's K2?

Has anyone ever tried sandpapering their jeans? I had a pair with a strange wash and I wanted to get rid of some of the dye. Does anyone know if this works?

Well I do spend alot of time on the computer working on my site,
so i figure whoever is interested might get some good info out of it.
If you don't need the info, then don't click the link. It's as simple as that.
now can we stop the hate?

Super shoppers in Seoul,
Has anyone ever been to NUZZON in Tongdaemun? I've been going to Doota forever (Doota is the bomb), but I heard things are way cheaper in Nuzzon and that they have a vintage clothing section on the third floor.
The bummer is it's only open after 8 pm.
Just wondering.

Here's some other shopping tips for clothes.

Uhh,
Are there any girls besides Canice on this thread, or on this entire chatboard for that matter?
It's very suspicious that a chatboard for supershoppers is entirely populated by males. (Not that I have anything against guys in stylish threads, of course) Yo ladies, what are you wearing today??????

Vanity is a sin? Without Vanity every beauty product, clothing company, luxury Brand good, and fancy restaurant would go out of business. And this chat board wouldn't exist!
I say hooray to vanity and to all the bored supershoppers out there, keep the economy churning! someone has to do it.

The best book I've read lately is a TRUE story about an Australian escaped convict who makes a new life for himself in Bombay with the Bombay underworld.
It's called SHANTARAM by Gregory David Roberts and it's worth all 933 pages (It's an epic)!
Shantaram is full of action, adventure and is very poetically and philosophically written. It's about love, sin and salvation. The most interesting thing is it's all true.
who really lives these kind of lives? WOW! Read it.
Another book which is really cool is Kill Kill Faster Faster by Joel Rose. It's like an episode of Miami vice. It's also a story about a criminal who is also a brillant writer (he killed his wife) He gets busted out of jail by a TV producer who needs him to help spice up his TV show. But then the criminal ends up having an affair with the producer's wife. The interesting thing about this book is the prose. It's like a tight poem from the ghetto.
The Rum Diaries-Hunter S Thompson I read this book on my holiday in Greece. It's about some loser journalists expatriated in Puerto Rico in The 50's. Brillantly written.

There's a new alley in Apkujong in Seoul that has become 'the' shoe street. It's near the Cheongdam intersection in an alley behind Gucci. Check out this Flash Layout I made for one of the shops-Sue Comma Bonnie. Their shoes are awesome!

I've been to Kyoto and other parts of Japan for skiing (Niseko and Hakuba are awesome places for ski!!) and I know the peacful and cultural part of it as well.
Anyway, the reason I ask about Harajuku is because I live in Korea and we get alot of Japanese over here to shop and I was wondering what my chances are for an import/ export business dealing in clothes. I'm starting to get a feeling like this whole harajuku thing is played out according to you guys.
One guy I know here in Seoul said: In Korea girls want to look feminine and elegant; and in Japan they want to look punk. However, I very much like the artsy Japan look, but don't worry, I won't be buying a mask of iron anytime soon. I like my face thank you very much.
The weird part of Japan is fun and interesting. I guess that's why people focus on it.

The Matsuhia is well known in Mykonos, but it's kind of up on a hill and getting a taxi is a bitch in Mykonos. (not too many of them) Judging by the general level of food in Mykonos (awesome!! getting hungry just thing about it!) it's probably as good as they say.
The food is much better on Mykonos rather than Santorini. Thank god for all those gay guys raising the standard for hotels and restaurants!!! Anyway, the grilled feta and the mushrooms marinated in olive oil were soooooo yummy!

yes, it was indeed a horrible song! but the words are indicative of the scene over there. I personally don't like Gwen stefani's music, but she does give props to Harajuku in the song, which is why it's relevant to this post.
Don't those kids look like Mad Max meets the Venice carnival in Asia? You have to admit they're really going for it though! The scariest one is the one with the big dreadlocks and the mask. Maybe she was actually pretty in another life. I heard Sunday is the day to cruise Harjuku. Does anyone know if that's true???

Hi there!
Has anyone ever been to Harajuku in Tokyo? I want to check it out because i heard there were alot of cutting edge fashion ideas there. Does anyone know where to shop or stay around there?
here's a link to the freaky kids in Harajuku
http://www.photosaga.com/Japon%20kids/index.htm
Gwen Stefani even wrote a song about Harajuku girls:
Wa-mono
There's me, there's you (hoko-ten)
In a pedestrian paradise
Where the catwalk got its claws (meow)
A subculture, in a kaleidoscope of fashion
Prowl the streets of Harajuku (irasshaimase)
Super lovers, tell me where you got yours
(At the super lovers store)
Yohji Yamamoto
I'm hanging with the locals
Where the catwalk got its claws
All you fashion know-it-alls
With your underground malls
In the world of Harajuku
Putting on a show, when you dress up in your clothes
Wild hair color and cell phones
Your accessories are dead on
[chorus 2x]
Harajuku girls, you got the wicked style
I like the way that you are
I am your biggest fan, oh
Harajuku girls
I'm looking at you girls
You're so original girls
You got the look that makes you stand out
Harajuku girls, I’m looking at you girls
You mix and match it girls
You dress so fly and just parade around (arigato)

The eyeliner is a retro throwback to rock bands from the 70's,80's and 90's. Like David Bowie (when he was doing Ziggy Stardust), Alice Cooper, The Cure etc...
We were also trying to make him look older, otherwise they might have thrown me in jail for molesting boys.
BTW, guys are totally wearing make-up here and cosmetics for guys is a burgeoning market.
