  1. ^ 3 things:

    - Keep shoulders more over bar in 1st pull

    - You're extending too early

    - Jerk must be more aggresive.

Keep arms relaxed, drive up with legs and lock elbows (don't press out) Example of an aggresive jerk around 0:27. See how powerfully he gets under the bar in the jerk, and how he brings his hips to meet the bar before finishing the 2nd pull.

Also an example of keeping shoulders over bar in 1st pull and controlling the speed. (4th pic where he completes the 1st pull. See how the shoulders are kept over the bar.)

  2. + 1 to djrajio's comment on UC's quality. Besides a few stand-out pieces, majority of the workmanship/quality is just meh. I buy UC from a design standpoint, not a quality one.

e.g. Buttons falling off, materials not holding up well to repeated use and washes, etc.

  3. Imperial Fiber Pomade is the best in my opinion. It has a nice matte look, keeps a 24 hour hold and smells great.

My question for the thick and medium to long hair length folks, what brush do you guys use? A generic drug store one?

    Kent.

  4. Anyone care to comment on imperial classic vs gel vs fiber? Would like to try, but classic seems to have too strong of a hold.

Ended up getting both to try out. Classic is better for super tight slickbacks and sideparts, esp when your hair gets longer. Fiber is better for shorter styles in general, and can be used with blowdrying to give a loose texturized look.

Toasty, you should try Fiber. Good hold while still soft on the hair.
