too bad. i love these jeans too much i want a deadstock pair that i could keep until the time my old one is beat. although the new arcs aren't that bad...hmmm...

can anyone point me to a website that still sells oni blues with the old arcs?

^^^ they are stubborn aren't they? and they don't produce the same fading as jap repro jeans. sort of like even fading with very minimal creasing and honeycomb. a bit frustrating actually.

thought i'd post some fit pics of my 45rpm nandos. (thanks john!)

the fit is nice and relaxed, a nice break from my other skinny jeans. the indigo is such a decadent rich hue, but as others have attested, the nando sumi nando is really difficult to take pictures of! i guess the elusive subtlety only adds to their appeal. the brass rivets compliment the denim well and i'm lovin the higher but not too high waist. signature red selvedge too.

oh yea, curse them for not making them just a size smaller.

I personally don't like the idea of them trying to be a run of the mill type of denim maker, coming up with something different that would change the brand's image. It's good to innovate and make new styles but changing to painted arcs are not my notion of evolution in terms of where Oni's direction is headed. I mean changing of the arcs was necessary due to the Levi's infringement but painted ones is a lame take on Evisu.

yeah. there's not much different from the old sorahikos.

these new ones are nice. i kinda wish i didn't have the older one which was a bit hard to put creases and combs on. i guess a tighter fit will make it easier?

this has become my favorite jeans for now. partly because it fits me better since i've gained a bit of weight (w/c I hate!). this has a looser fit than the nobunaga and reminds me of my oni. indigo is a bit light and i really don't how these things are gonna fade. creases aren't that much pronounced than other heavier denim i have.

i'll probaby alternate these with the sams and hope to give you an update soon. sorry, sked's been hectic and haven't had time to take pics.

my girlfriend just got me a copy in kinukuniya in singapore. i won't be getting them though not till next weekend. what should i expect on these new ones?

bumping this thread. starting to use the 51XXX, awesome. the bagginess calmed down. the fit is spot on. i've never seen denim as hairy as this one. can't even call it slubby! will be using this sparingly until my samurai nobunaga is completely broken in. stay tuned for some pics soon...
