  1. it seems Thailand has quite a few old style shuttle looms....EVIL jeans was getting his redline selvage from Thailand for his 1937 501 repros and he was selling them for $95 so the material must have been very inexpensive. on a related note, EVIL is no more as the guy is being sued by Levi's for copyright infringement by using the arcuates on the back pockets so he got shut down.

  2. having been to H&M NYC, i think it's a cool store with a better men's section than women's

the women's section kinda exists already in LA as Forever 21...not that it's the same stuff but it's almost the exact same stuff...esp if you compare it with the Beverly Center Forever 21

the men's section is far better than women's....the suits are actually nice for $249...super 100 wool, slim fitting...you could do a lot worse for the price. their basics are cheap and reasonably good quality. their denim line even had a dark one rinse super slim low rise for $39. there's def a reason it's packed with people and stuff is sold so quick. it's cheaply priced, prolly wont last more than a couple years, but it's a lotta bang for the buck

i'm shocked there isnt one in LA yet....as far as i know there isnt plans for one yet, just SF

  3. Japanese fenders are nice.....but so are the made in mexico ones if you get a 'good' one.....i used to have a MIM 50s tele and it was a sweeeet guitar. i would seriously not get a MIA fender as the quality can be shoddy on those just as much as a MIM or MIJ...so why pay the premium. and they dont sound any better imo

  4. John Smedley polos are great. I've never seen it in the states but i've seen them on ebay quite a bit. They can be a bit pricey but a lot of UK mods are wearing it in addition/instead of fred perry since it is less ubiquitous.

fred perry sizing is whack tho. back in mid/late 80s i used to wear M or L and nowadays i have to buy a S to get the same fit. they definitely arent cut slim like they used to be.

I was at the mall over the weekend and passed by Nordstrom and I saw these new Sean John raw jeans and the back pockets look exactly like the AD jeans. Anyone have seen it too?

yea i think i've seen those too....that is the one thing that throws me off about ALD that i dont like, the detailing reminds me of 'urban' jeans a la roca, enyce, sean john etc.
  6. they are def not a slim fit, they have that relaxed fit of older Levis...a bit roomy in the legs, hips

as for sizing, i've never tried a pair on....i have friends that have em but i didnt size check em.

i'm assuming they are not sanforized since Hepcat is advising buying a size up. they do look nice in real life too.
