  1. the guy that said it comes to $7 for a shirt obviously doesnt make high end t's.

i will agree that gildan and hanes are bullshit. if someone is using those they shouldnt be in the high end industry. tshirts are getting more and more expensive at retail-yes. but they are also getting much more expensive to produce.

making boutique and high end t's means you are not selling hundreds of thousands like quik or hurley so you get less quantity breaks. not to mention those lame ass brands are a fucking logo on a ghetto shirt. plus you are not using cheap plastisol inks or cheap tshirts. plus worn out and light soft t's dont get that way themselves. it costs a lot to treat them. tags, etc. and overhead is a bitch.

a lot of expensive t's are coming from small independent companies.

some of us view a tshirt as a canvas. art is expensive. if you are buying a tshirt because you saw carson daily wearing the same one on trl we dont want you as a customer anyway. people will pay for a quality shirt that is well designed because they appreciate it. the people that bitch about the prices simply dont get what a designer is doing.

i know a lot of people who can't afford to buy expensive t's that do. and i know a lot of rich peoplw who can afford the expensive t's and bitch about the price. get it? i hope so cus they dont.

  2. luckily artists are not dead. otherwise this would be a shitty place to live. what matters is how one person responds to someone's art-even if it is on a tshirt. true-having a t in a good store means one buyer liked the shirt. however, if you are getting respect for putting someone elses stuff on your shirt and sewing in your tag-that is bullshit.

most of you probobly dont love brittany spears but she is all over the goddamn place. does that mean her stuff is really good? i would argue no. and this also relates to this tshirt argument because she didnt make her shit anyway.

i think i just changed my own mind. do something unoriginal and get some really good publicity and your the fucking man/woman. buy yourself a cliche benz while your on top. and who is to blame? look in the mirror. the consumer who eats this bullshit up. dont make me mention von dutch again. i mean this all started with some guy who really thought this stuff was good. i take quality customers in smaller quantities and keep my cred.

  3. im all about supporting girls doing stuff. but really, are you guys supporting this stuff? seince when is it awesome to see people rip off louis vuitton and chanel on a basic tshirt or hoody? i like the cheezy snowboard grapfic reference. tshirts are a dime a dozen these days. originality is the only competitive advantiage a tshirt co has. havnt we had enough with "italian stallion," "rub my belly," supreme bitch?" i have.

anyone can call up american apparel and have a printer put some lame words, knockoff graphics, etc. on a t. but what good is that doing anyone. what are the pricepoints on these?
