  1. It does help, thank you. What size did you order? I'm glad you like them, with your knowledge of denim they should be great. Any chance you have an idea about the weight in ounces? Hopefully they're durable?

  2. The unisex is great.. I was considering the Anglais because in the APC site it says "low waist" which I prefer. Unisex is also pretty low isn't it? Anyway I'll buy the Unisex, probably 2 sizes down to be very slim... would 3 sizes down be too much?

In your previous posts you said you own some pairs of selvage helmut langs. They sound like the perfect jeans to me, how are they compared to your Unisex A.P.C.? I'd really like to know that... people say Helmut Lang are very confortable.

  3. Thanks for the responses,

Also, is the difference between the waist in Unisex(regular) and Anglais (low) noticeable?

could I buy an English-cut some 2 or 3 sizes down so to get a slim fit? The waist would be too narrow right?

and, what's the approximate weight of the denim in ounces? (hope it's not less than 12,5oz)

  4. I want to get a pair of A.P.C.

My doubt is about the sizing and which cut is best.

In this picture, from Serge d Nimes, you can clearly see that the denim has some sort of shine in the fabric. The model is "women's jeans" from A.P.C.

Does the model "unwashed denim" (english-cut) has the same sort of shine in the fabric?

Please give me some advice on this, because I really don't want opaque jeans.

Should I get the Unisex cut instead, or even the "women's jeans"?

Last, my size on Diesel's Rabox is 32 so, should I get a size 30 in APC? I want it to be slim and mold with time to my legs.

Any other advice much appreciated. Thanks

  5. Is it the only difference? Did you notice anything else that could lead you to believe the second one is a fake?

Evisu jeans should have the seagull logo hand-painted, so maybe if the brush had more white paint in it... the result would be a thicker logo. If both pairs have similar quality, then they should be both original or both fakes!

  6. Selvage denim:

"This means that the denim is made on old style shuttle looms rather than modern projectile looms. In simple terms this means that the cross thread in the weaving process goes back and forth during the weaving process. But modern looms, shoot each cross thread through individually, hence the edge of the cloth is frayed rather than clean (although brands who are only interested in making quick money, try to cash in by faking the smooth selvedge by stitching up the frayed edge afterwards).

To maximise the usage, the traditional method was to have a straight outside seam and cut right up to the selvedge so that when you turn the jean up you see the two selvedge edges of the denim stitched together. You can also see it on the inside of the coin pocket.

Denim produced on shuttle looms is naturally irregular and these irregularities come out as the jeans fade, making every pair develop into a unique and beautiful pattern as it fades. The deep blue colour and the way the jeans fade can only be achieved by using the loop dying system and all the other details give the jeans a combination of authenticity and the knowledge that you have something that is a labour of love that no other jeans or probably any other item of clothing, in the world can give you." -Extracted from Evisu.com

Now, aren't the selvage denim produced slow compared to non-selvage, and hence the better quality? I agree in theory the result could be achieved in a larger width by producing new machines.

  7. Looking for the best denim brand, being selvage for the durability and nice aspect, what would it be?

Some say the best are made by 45 rpm, but the ones I saw on their Japanese website are quite ugly and cheap looking. The cuts are way conservative, with high fronts and large fit. Helmut Lang's are usually not made of the best selvage or/ not selvage.. although they have great confort and fit.

I mean, supposing you actually don't care about the cost, you want the best denim available.. also the most in confort/fit there is, not those conservative cuts... then what's the best brand?

Something like Nudie's - Reg Ralphs but better. The best confort and best selvage?
