  1. I sharpened my Mini-Grip for the first time using the mousepad and sandpaper method, it seems kind of like overkill to spend $50 on the Sharpmaker when I only own one knife. Got the edge sharp enough to shave hairs in about 30 minutes so I'm pretty satisfied, I recommend people give it a try before dropping money on a pro sharpening system unless you really need one.

  2. If she wanted to do you, and has had the opportunity but hasn't done it, then she isn't going to, at least not anytime soon. She wants your time and attention, not your dick. Move on and maybe the lack of attention will spur her into action, but don't hold your breath.

  3. I know I'm in the minority but I always do my cardio first, which is typically a hard 30 minutes on a stationary bike. I know that it probably keeps me from lifting as much as I would if I hit the weights first, but I like being fully warmed up and having a good sweat going before I lift. Also, I know that if I waited until after the weights to try and do my cardio I would end up blowing it off a lot of the time, this way I never skip it.

  4. She tells me she loves, she tells me that she really cares for me and doesn't want to hurt me, she tells me she doesn't want to see other people, but at the same time she tells me that she doesn't know if she wants to be with and that we need "time apart."

what the fuck does this mean, and do I just give her the space she seemingly wants and wait for her to reach out to me, or like after a week should I call her?

She doesn't want you romantically, but doesn't want the responsibility of being the bad guy and hurting you. Don't give her that kind of power over you. Have some dignity and walk away instead of living in hope for something that won't happen with any woman until you show some balls.

  5. When I hurt my RC dips weren't a problem but any kind of shoulder raises or especially pullups were agony. Dull pain that gets really sharp when you make certain movements sounds exactly like my symptoms. Get to the doc and good luck.

  6. Zubin, if your shoulder is clicking when you try to raise it that is another sign that it migh be a rotactor cuff problem. I hurt my RC sleeping as well, and I tried to keep working my shoulder through it instead of letting it heal straight away which was a bad mistake. It took over 6 months to get my full ROM back, and even longer before I could really push it in a workout. Get it checked by your doc and make sure it heals properly, you'll really regret it if you don't.

  7. As long as it doesn't start before the Eternal contest ends, I'd be interested. I like the 005 cut the best right now.

Considering the Eternal contest is supposed to run for 2 years this sounds like a non-starter. Too many contests going on anyway, just enjoy the jeans.

  8. I never realized there were 2 versions of the FBT2, I have this version with the different seam around the upper and extra tassels on the skirt. FWIW these have always been more comfortable to me than my Shamens:

  9. Crazy story, I can't help but think that if you did have a knife and escalated the stakes to that level things might not have worked out as well as they did in the end. Something for everyone who carries to think hard about.

You HAVE to send Atwood an email with your story, he'll probably be very interested in hearing about it.

  10. Hey, it's not impossible to lose the weight, I dropped almost 50, which is why I don't have the 38's anymore. Let some nice fitting slim denim be your motivation...

  11. I'm a 38 with hips built for 36. The problem is that a size 38 isn't available. If it was, it'd be a no-brainer. Gordon has only one pair left in size 40.

Thus, I was asking if the bigger sizes in this lot either ran somewhat small OR if they shrank a bit more than usual. Is a size 40 worth the risk if I really need a size 38 (or even a loose 36)?

If I bought, then hot soaked/hot dried, and they still ran too big, they'd be hard to unload. (This, of course, is why Gordon still has a pair in size 40).

Buried way back in this thread (around pgs 60-75) there are discussions that make me think it will be a bad idea to try. I was hoping to find someone in the 38 or 40 range who actually have this 19oz BK model to give advice.

    Many thanks.

I had a pair of 38's, they shrunk but they definitely stretched back out too, so if you are closer to a 36 I don't see how it could work out well. if I was you I'd save the money and heartache.

  12. In my silver cardholder I only keep:

    - State ID (I don't drive, native NYC'er for life)

    - Bank Card

    - Health Insurance card

    - Metrocard

I can keep it to just this because I have key tags for stuff like the gym, store discount cards, etc. If I get given a business card I add the info to my phone and toss the card when I get home, I hate carrying extra BS like that around.

  13. FIrst pocket dump:

    - I hate the phone, but the job pays for it and I ain't carrying two just to have a cooler one

    - The Boker Keycom is definitely a nice little knife for city dwellers, small enough to fit in a coin pocket but plenty sharp and sturdy for EDC stuff. I am still thinking about getting something slightly larger though, like a Boker Trance or a Mini-Grip

    - I've heard lots of people express concern that keyhooks like the Flathead would be easy to lose, but I've never had mine fall off or get caught on anything in the two years I've carried it. I'd lose the Tiffany key ring but my wife would probably kill me. I love the Atwood Chigger, mine has some extra stamps that Peter added when I ordered it from him.

    - I know it's not possible, but I wish there was a gel version of the Space Pen, it would be perfect then.
