  1. I agree that the Confed Cup is insignificant, but both the US and Brazil were giving their all in that last match. They both really wanted to win that final. You could argue that for the US it actually is a nice trophy, whereas Brazil was playing not pride and honour (and not to lose against the US), but I wouldn't call them unmotivated.

Nice jab, by the way. But we've had Solskjaer, Flo, Riise, Carew, Iversen, Bjorneby and Berg making a significant difference in some of the most competitive leagues in Europe recently. And we're a country of 4.5 mill people. Who does the US have... anywhere?

Despite of this lack of 'star' players, the US has 8 World Cup appearances, with one 3rd place and they made it to the quarter finals in Asia. That's more than I can say for Norway.

  2. Do it. If it turns out to be a drag, you can always move on after a year with a lesson learned and a grasp of the German language. If you don't go, you'll never know and you might end up regretting it. Those Miami senoritas aren't going anywhere.

  3. The first gen iphone didn't support 3G data. I'm sure it was lucrative for AT&T to get that large amount of existing clients (using EDGE) over to 3G. This time the gain for them is less obvious, aside from maybe some contract renewals and the amount they make on selling a new device.

  4. Looks like it's really happening.

    From the Man Utd website:

11/06/2009 09:30, Report by Press department

    Record Ronaldo bid accepted

Manchester United have received a world-record, unconditional offer of £80million for Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

At Cristiano's request - who has again expressed his desire to leave - and after discussion with the player's representatives, United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player.

Matters are expected to be concluded by 30 June. The club will not comment until further notice.
