  2. The little satchel / purse from a few years ago remains one of my all-time favorite items of any category (likely above most of my clothes and boots, even); it’s with me all the time Had to do a first round of repairs, recently. Some holes were forming around the bottom so I patched it up with some of the canvas leftover from hemming my older pair of Roy’s Foreman pants There was some really nice lighting today so I took a few photos. I love how many different colors are present in different areas of the bag from different sorts of wear (sun, abrasion, indigo crocking…)

  4. Drove down to see the eclipse in totality in Salem, Indiana last week before adventuring in the Great Smoky Mountains for a few days. Any pictures you have seen do not do this celestial event justice. If you ever get the chance to see it take it. My camera could not capture it at all but my gods it was fucking spectacular. But I did manage to get a few fit pics. *Big hat *Thrashed bandana bolo *Orphan vest *Levi's LVC "What are Stars" tee *Vintage tea core belt *Turquoise pin *Mister Freedom Outlaw double black *Vintage Sears/ACME Thunderbird Cowboy boots Best I could do with my shite phone. The below shots were taken just minutes apart. Animals got weird. Temperature dropped. Street lights came on. The stars came out. You could hear a pin drop among the people crying and whispering. Her face says it all. Not my photos but this is pretty close to what we saw. Mind blown.

  5. Sometimes you think that ship as sailed...and then you stumble across something on Yahoo 😅 First I didn't recognise what it was exactly. So I ignored the listing. Then I saw it again and it dawned on me that this is something unique. You can have a guess if you like 😁

  6. Progress on my DD-1001XX 1947. Just an unbelievably good fit and feel on these, soon to be unseated by the DSB 1000XX possibly but these are very special, and only getting better. Unsurprisingly, in need of a preventative crotch stitch repair, but they’re looking great I think!

  14. I finally found an Orrizonti era WWII pair. Denim has a completely different weight and feel from 66 and XX. Curious what you know of this pair BF. Awesome details, wonky pocket shape with my dream of a shorter rise to round out a perfect-for-me 40s fit. And yes there is a bit of aging on the denim from sun and rubbing on creases.

  23. Judging on the posts here and on IG, TCB is making a 1890s pair of No.2 denim?! Probably that is the pair they are developing. Interesting for sure. http://tcbjeans.com/news

  24. Update on Libra Pondus (LB 40s) after one week. It so happened that I received the latest Ooe-Yofukuten's, Sugar Cane 1946 and LB in a short period of a few weeks. Comparisons are begging to be made. Three very good products, each with its own exciting features, I like each. Nevertheless, if I had to keep one jean only out of the three, it would be the LB. I just fell in love with them, I like literally everything about them. Also a very simple and true indicator. Of the three items mentioned, I wear LB most often. Almost every day with very few exceptions.

  35. The rep system… Most people, if using the rep system, give a standard, green, positive rep symbol to a post they like. If they really like a post they’ll give it the yellow super-rep one and if they don’t like a post (I assume they must really dislike something as it’s not used often) they give it the red, negative rep. I understand all of this, it’s completely logical. What I don’t understand (and I’m not criticizing it), is why (and therefore when) do people use the blue rep icon? I assume it’s because they like a post, but not quite enough to give it a positive rep. Is it a neutral acknowledgment of a post that’s interesting or informative in some way? Please, blue rep users, explain your justification to me and satisfy my curiosity! 😁 I wonder if anyone will give me a blue rep as a response…

  42. My Libra Pondus have arrived. The story of the order is full of unusual details. The packaging in Japanese paper and metal box to store and protect the kimono is unique in itself. Not to mention that Isamu san's blog features quotes from Schopenhauer and Goethe... 🙃

  43. Some Levi's LVC cone 501zxx and hemp blend 501 Regular 501 stf and 501xx stf Selvedge 514 ^Back of the selvedge on the hemp pair that I thought was a little interesting Cone 501z are like 10 years old but haven't gotten around to them until recently. Hemp Pair is from October. STFs are a ~10' pair and a ~00' pair. 514 are probably like 12 years old and even with many, many washes the denim still looks raw in its darkest spots.

  44. At my parents' place for a family birthday. Planted a persimon tree [1] as a birthday gift. Got the new dick carroll comics [2] Tried air layering on my parents yuzu [3]. Let's hope it works out. Fig tree we planted last fall at my grandparents' place is coming along pretty good [4], let's hope for good fruits. Stork's nest right around my parents' place [5]. They used to come back every year, nowadays they don't even leave anymore, since the winters are so mild

  45. SOA03XXD-0823 pre-ordered from Barnstormer at the end of October 2023. The parcel eventually arrived, at the end of March. The jeans look a little different to the previous OA models. Waiting for the rainy weather to end so I can soak them and dry on the yard. Will probably wash at low temperature after that, the look and feel is tough.
