that's very nice of you. I'm still lurking about once a day. My life is a mess at the moment with way too much work and stress. I'm so fat that none of my old tcb jeans fit and the idea of surrender and realize I need a 38 makes me sad. I'm going to leave my job at the end of the year, move on something else more simple and get my life back. I thought I could resist with this job until I was 50, make some more good money and call it a day then. But I'm 43 now and I've been dead close to burnout for the last couple years. I may as well decide to join for the fun, as long as I like the cut. I have no time at the moment to work out details with Hajime and Ryo. Let's hope they cook up something that most will like, a Levi's based 5P model with a regular to loose fit. A copy of a specific Levi's pair they haven't covered yet from either 40s or 50s would be probably the most attractive project to stir interest in the contest. A 60's pair with a more friendly cut would be nice too. I loved it back in 2012 or whenever it was, but now I know more what I like, and that cut leaves much to be desired in terms of comfort and proportions (low rise, tight hip, tight thigh).22 points

This one is from last week but I’m going to share anyway because I really like this rugby. It’s a vintage Rugged Wear rugby from the 80s or 90s with big Rubber buttons that reminds me of vintage climbing rugbies. Chinos are Buzz WW2 (complete 180 from the TCB pair I wore yesterday in terms of fit). Shoes are Rancourt ranger Mocs13 points

PSA: Boyos beware, Reps are lurking. Many of you probably know about this problem. I inadvertently bought a rep S21-DS on eBay a few years ago when I was just beginning my addiction/collection. Sold it on Grailed and the buyer figured out it was not genuine. I confirmed thanks to some handy advice from @1i1i1ii1 and refunded the fellow. Recently another one appeared on Grailed so I thought people here might want to know about it. Easy to spot features are the size label uses A with a cross bar, whereas genuine articles have a specialized font that does not. Also label corners are much more rounded on rep. There are other differences also but these are the most obvious. Fabrics are very close to real DS so that is hard to tell. Image provided for contrast viewing. Hope this helps people steer clear of those who are trying to sell fake shit. TLDR: Reps exist, check your sources, check your tags.12 points

lovely to see all these jeans @merzbot @irual @bartlebyyphonics, fading twisting and repairs all looking great. Really good to see a pair of hadal jeans wearing in, too- please keep us posted. Here are my 12oz Cross Weave 136s. I get such a kick out of seeing the right-hand twist on a left hand twill fabric cut sideways 🙂11 points

SOA03XXD-0823 pre-ordered from Barnstormer at the end of October 2023. The parcel eventually arrived, at the end of March. The jeans look a little different to the previous OA models. Waiting for the rainy weather to end so I can soak them and dry on the yard. Will probably wash at low temperature after that, the look and feel is tough.11 points

I have always loved all types of marbling and am surprised to see so many people against it! I’m curious if anyone can elaborate on their position a bit more? for me, I have always loved the way a big “marble” crease imprints itself into the fabric, it’s like the spirit of the fabric fighting through the indigo that’s smothering it… plus it’s usually totally absent in artificially faded jeans but quite common in handmade & naturally dyed fabrics and I feel is a characteristic I strongly associate with the latter. It’s the main reason I love tender’s standard denim so much… it just longs to speak its mind regardless of what the wearer does to it… it’s amazing!!!9 points

I’m interested if the fit is wrong and completely unsuitable for me.9 points

I mulled over this pair in my head for several years. I already talked about it 2 or 3 years ago with Naoki from PSA who had a quite big stock of them. The stock got smaller and smaller and although I might have found a pair on Yahoo, it was easier to buy from Naoki. Luckily he could secure a pair from the Orizzonti era for me. You will not find much information about this model although it had been produced in the Orizzonti and Shins era. It's a 101B Leepro from the late 40s if I am correct. Beautiful LHT. Some fit pics on my Cats Drive pair, for illustration of the fit on a different body type. I put them on again today to find that actually, they're not so uncomfortable and maybe I will put some time into them - the fabric is already softening and I imagine will become very comfortable over time. I actually did the same thing, I compared the size charts beforehand to my DD-1001XX (1947) (essentially my North star fit-preference wise, granted the waist is a bit big for me, but overall as yet unbeatable) - and the comparison of the measurements I need to know about looks like this: DD1001XX (34) // TCB Cat's Drive (32) Waist (flat): 42cm // 40cm Front Rise: 31cm // 32cm Thigh (my KEY measurement): 31cm // 31cm Hem width (at unhemmed inseam length): 21.5cm // 20cm Given that, I imagined I was going to be in for a spacious pair - as you can see - I was indeed not! As mentioned above it was truly a lesson in a set of measurements not giving the full picture. It wasn't the fit I was after, but maybe I'll get along with it anyway! They certainly won't be getting my usual treatment of regular wash and dries.7 points

Hasn’t TCB made it clear that they already have a model in mind for this? Doesn’t seem like it’s up to us to decide one way or another5 points
