i'm less annoyed by the people immediately flipping what they ordered than by the people listing beat up six year old items for twice what they retailed.

The Steam locomotive D62XXX. Far too little talk about this brand in my opinion. Quite an irregular, stubby denim with loads of character. So something for the PBJ/ONI guy/gal but with classic 50s/60s fits. Boatloads of different stich leanghts and thread colour.

Seen an Instagram post about a year or so ago that supposedly showed a s506xx that was made using left hand twill denim , at the time I wasn’t convinced and brushed it off as nonsense but something brought it into my head earlier today and I thought there wouldn’t be any harm in a Dm asking for a few more pics . I was surprised when the person replied and was very pleased by the pics that followed So there you have it ....... left hand twill Levi’s . I’d heard rumours before but never any proof until now

SOLD Got my hands on the MEDIUM YJA TT-KA1-KA2-LA1 (https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f335271224) but I kinda do not like how it fits so WTS to a positive reputation sufu member. Looking to get my 29000JPY (proxy and shipping added 2000JPY, but the shirt is now in EU) back = add PP fees and shipping. Does anyone even profit substantially at all reselling with the current retail prices? I see some crazy prizes up there but I often wonder how many of those actually go through. For me it's a strict self-sustaining 'one goes out, one comes in' mentality (although often, in reality, more comes in than goes out! )

I'm not sure how feasible it would be but I think it would be awesome if we do another contest we could do a throwback to the custom days and offer some minor customization. Standardize the denim, offer it in the 01/02/03 cuts and offer some customizable details like they used to offer (crotch rivets, continuous fly, etc.) Or if that's too much just offer the same pair to everyone and randomize the pocket bags so we all get something different! Just throwing out some ideas here.

It's terrible to admit but the system may have successfully conditioned me the more i think about it. I feel relieved that some stuff sits and I can actually read about it before buying (barring the odd hype item) despite the high prices...and now I look back, I don't think i've bought any other clothes apart from the odd bit of acronym for something like 2 years now. In my head this translates to less items of a higher quality and a more adult approach to clothes shopping ...but i'm sure this is just horrendous self-justification for the fact i'm still as addicted as ever and the gear still gets me more psyched than anything else out there whatever twists they put into the retail model I already know that if that strange new FO-esque J1A ever makes it through testing I'm ready to drop an obscene amount.

If by "distribution issues" you mean they stole $20,000 USD from us and still owe us many years later.. haha.. At least now I can laugh about it, i spent years day dreaming about beating the living shit out of those guys.

I used to not think about this very much, but one of my favorite design details is 100% cotton stitching. I know that poly/cotton core-spun threads are supposedly the best of both worlds, but I swear I can tell some kind of difference in how they feel to the touch and how it feels when the stitched seams stretch/bend/etc. Maybe I'm just nuts. But my 100% cotton stitched jeans (from Flat Head, Full Count, and Samurai) seem to have an additional level of "vibe" to the construction that my other jeans don't, even when you account for the different thread gauges, stitches per inch, etc. The stitching of my 3Sixteens, which use poly/cotton, feels much more rigid and industrial to me. Although much more durable, the construction feel of these jeans doesn't match the feel of my Samurais (where the back pocket stitching is falling apart and has been repaired many times, but everything else has held together very well.) The most obvious benefit to cotton is that it fades along with the denim, leading to a nicer aesthetic (which I especially notice on Flat Head) but the threads also seem to break in from a tactile standpoint with a more natural feel. IMO, these benefits are quite worth having to fix occasional breaks in the back pockets, inseam, etc., which I see as an acceptable tradeoff. FYI, I don't mind using poly/cotton to repair high stress areas Disclaimer: This might entirely be a figment of my imagination. By the way, the 100% cotton stitching on all my Flat Head shirts has held up incredibly well. My green flannel is almost eight years old and has no broken stitches, even after being worn at least 150-200 times. My FH denim shirt's stitching has also been extremely durable.

On a serious note though, I'd say it depends on the piece. From what I can see the majority of the new pieces from SS18 onwards are selling for a significant discount to retail. Resale on the classics (eg. J1A) seem to be increasing, whereas a handful of nouveau classiques (P30, J74) command a decent premium. But I don't think that true resellers, especially not those that purchase bulk on credit and have to pay interest prior to the sale, are making margins that justify the effort. As @moneytalks rightly says, it's a bloody mission to go through just to get an odd $100-200 profit.
