  1. Continuing on from the conversation in the Sugarcane thread, on the topic of proper REALLY rare unseen Nos Levis pieces, l bagged these shots from a collector/wearer on lg. 1927 First pocket flapped 506xx in a size 36 - it says 'Size 36' rather than 'W/L 36' as that didn't happen until c.1937. Tried to enlarge the magazine shots to clarify (King of vintage Vol 4). Also just about make out the copper riveted on the patch. (Obviously if you click on the image it comes up clearer)

  4. Sugar Cane is working on new 40s models (43 and 46, jeans and jackets). You can see them here: I heard the denim should be special and treated, similar to Warehouse's DSB. We'll see

  5. Almost done with the move, I've got a back yard to take photos now. 601XXC 1937 worn since November / December, one initial wash and two subsequent washes. Aiming to get a little more contrast with these, but it's tough since they are pretty loose.

  7. This is my first denim. 10 years imperial duke. Still wearable and i did some sashiko to my jeans from instagram @blcoo__ the fabric is too old now. It ripped easily everytime i wear them. Luckily my body is not getting any bigger since 10 years so i can still wear them.

  9. All the stores would be committed to a balance of stock, then depending on interest would add further n/w or o/w as they would judge worthwhile. As @broark mentions you can only buy what’s available. I’ve noticed a strange approach during this upsurge of interest in FW denim in that folk believe they can simply buy any model they might have seen. That might work for 47 or 51 model jeans since FW see them as permanent designs, but most of the rest will only be offered in the season of the year of production … and FW production runs are not on the same scale as most of the other manufacturers (Warehouse etc). Basically you are relying on luck a lot of the time if it’s something from more than a season or two back.

  13. I've spent the past 6 years—the entirety of the time that I've been active on this forum—working towards a degree in physics (experimental AMO, for anyone up on the lingo). That stage of life is finally coming to a close. My dissertation isn't quite finished, but the commencement ceremony for the past year's worth of graduates took place last week, and I was close enough to finishing that I chose to participate. Since Duke's already let the cat out of the bag, I figure it's only right that I follow up with photos. feat. cheap rental gown & hat, TFH shirt, Tightly Stitched belt, Roy jeans, MOTO shoes also feat. my good buddy Nick, w/ Indigofera shirt, Warehouse shirt, Roy jeans, Nick's boots

  14. I agree Martin but it was worth the wait to see those gorgeous flannel pocket-lined 43s and in a great size too. Sometimes though certain collectors are reluctant to let those really rare garments out of the bag, so to speak. So it can take some time to find these pieces, within collections, and then you have to get them to agree to photographing them. This could be for many reasons (??) but it is becoming more common now to see really rare deadstock/unworn Levis jeans and jackets, than say, 5 years ago. Weird. Thought l was well and truly over the WW2 jeans reissues but these SC 43's have caught my interest. Need to see more details first though.

  16. My standard fit Sugar Cane '47s from Hinoya which I can't wear anymore cuz there was a family dryer incident and they shrunk haha....I gave them to a good friend, who wears them a ton, so I still get to see them fading on a weekly basis. I think this was 8 months of wear, a few days a week, but I wasn't logging wears at that point like I do with my jeans now. Roping was decent even without a chain stitch (whoops) cuz I hemmed them when they were new.

  21. Inis meáin / indigofera I was going strong in the indigoferas for awhile then a series of toddler events meant I had to wash them like 6 times in 2 weeks so now I wash and dry almost whenever and they’re marbled and have fade splotches (the gunpowder dye scrubs off a little easy) and they’re great and I don’t care.

  22. Jeansjacke he says "shinsaku"- it really sounds like Jeansjacke. 'Kind of like song lyrics, where one sometimes hears something and when looking at the text, it was actually something else. Shinsaku means "new piece/creation" or so.

  23. @julian-wolf I have bF's old pair and the measurements are still about the same, although the waist is probably at about 34" now. Depending on the fit you're looking for, I'd go with your usual sizing just because it seems like they end up stretching to tag size after a few wears. Starting to realize that I'd be more of a 36 in the 301 now as compared to a 34

  27. @indigoeagle these were non-wash, the denim used is a bit more rigid than the standard 47/51 denim but less rigid than the 44/45 war era jeans / jackets.

  38. Don't listen to Yan, they're stuck in 2015 and cannot appreciate innovation and new features. TensonZip is really amazing and I love it on my J1, it makes access just that much easier and at least to me it looks really cool wether it's open or shut. A design brand, especially one focused on fashion, will inherently try new things over time and innovate on their designs. That has been Acronym's hallmark feature from the get-go 20 years ago. They always did things differently than anyone else and sometimes things turned out shit, that's how innovation is. I'd somewhat agree with that on things like InterOps, but certainly not TensionZip.

  42. sorry for the insanely late response! this is the first ive tried of the s5000 cut, but my understanding is that its a mid rise straight leg cut. i believe that to be true in this case. it feels fitted in the top block and roomy through the legs. i pulled an old fit pic for reference. i did give them a 40C soak and agitation when i first got them as they were unsanforized iirc lol im guessing none of this matters to you anymore but didnt want to seem like i ignored
