Almost done with the move, I've got a back yard to take photos now. 601XXC 1937 worn since November / December, one initial wash and two subsequent washes. Aiming to get a little more contrast with these, but it's tough since they are pretty loose.8 points

Viktor is such a likeable guy, great to see him doing collabs with TCB. Check out his book True Fit if you haven't, a great mix of photos from his vintage collection and denim history. Almost 10(!?) years ago I did a short interview with him about it while doing some work for his publisher. You can read it here: https://indigoveins.com/true-fit-breathing-life-into-vintage-denim/5 points

the 47s, hawaiis, and okinawas all have slightly but perceptibly different fits as well. for me at the same size, the okinawas have tighter thighs, the 47s have a tighter waist but are almost billowy after the hips, and the hawaiis are more or less straight up and down with a tiny bit of taper towards the waist and the hem (still more straight than "slim straight" but enough to be noticeable in a good way (not culotte-ish)). my fave is the hawaiis.4 points

I'm too tight to order another skip so im bagging up the soil and taking it to the tip.. the rubble sacks cost £8 for 20 from Wickes as opposed to £260 for a skip.. i filled the car at 8.30am, set off at 8.45 hoping not to queue when it opened at 9.30.. i was probably the 20th car in the queue when i got to Shirecliffe so i was queueing on a residential street.. i lost count of how many dudes i saw, shirt off with a fucking massive snarling pitbull on a chain.. other pedestrians were gingerly walking past and the dogs were going fucking mental.. lunging at passers by.. up on their hind legs while these dudes struggled to hold them back like they were performing some kind of public service.. when in effect the only thing standing between the dog tearing someone to pieces was it's owner.. what the fuck.. why would you?.. most of the other road users who passed me were young dudes tearing up the street on illegal bikes, no helmets but wearing clava's or hoods pulled tight with skiing goggles over the top.. at f'kin 9am on a Sunday morning.. it was like being an npc in Grand Theft Auto! the only exception being i was listening to Bermuda triangle by Barry Manilow on the radio.2 points

Really didn't know where else to put this but I'll see if I can get some traction here. Have recently became fairly obsessed with vintage fifties and sixties ACME cowboy boots with the painted leather inlays and thought I would try my hand at customizing some boots. First here are a few examples of what I'm talking about. And the boots themselves. Pretty cheap, shaft my be synthetic. And here is what I've come up with for options 1. Cream and baby blue inlays, red piping Option 2: Cream and Red inlays, baby blue piping Or Option 3: Blue and red up front, cream in the back with or without piping2 points

@indigoeagle Seiichiro will definitely get you N/W if it is available! I believe he does stock some N/W models, not sure how much he has on hand in relation to O/W models though.1 point
-
@indigoeagle these were non-wash, the denim used is a bit more rigid than the standard 47/51 denim but less rigid than the 44/45 war era jeans / jackets.1 point

So wtf. PayPal you can’t just send international to an email anymore? now it asks me for a full bank acct or debit card or cash? paypal making it a pain in the ass to send money for overseas purchases1 point

^ Started typing pretty much the same thing as the above but got distracted. The TCB ‘50s are probably most similar to the Okinawa The best comparison would probably have the TCBs a size bigger than the Cane’s (I generally wear a tag size 34 in both, but the TCBs are much tighter in the waist)1 point

Still a very good fit. I guess next time you can buy a size up if you want the wider look.1 point

^ They cost something like $140 + shipping brand new; I think you might have some trouble charging $20 extra for the wear you’ve put into them…1 point

Inis meáin / indigofera I was going strong in the indigoferas for awhile then a series of toddler events meant I had to wash them like 6 times in 2 weeks so now I wash and dry almost whenever and they’re marbled and have fade splotches (the gunpowder dye scrubs off a little easy) and they’re great and I don’t care.1 point

Ordered my dad a pair of 710s in advance for Father's Day, and just took some shots of my daily driver pair next to the new. Fun to see the evolution side-by-side in person.1 point

Got the denim hi back trousers from belafonte. The darker pictures are from before the machine wash and lighter ones are post wash. The fabric is 13oz unsanforized denim. Seems non selvedge. Overall I’m impressed with everything about these, except for maybe the thin fabric used for pocket bags and the very narrow opening of the back pockets.1 point

In fact, you can still find Warehouse 1082 in online stores. In particular, Son of a Stag and Burg & Schild. I bought mine, however, in 2020. Interesting slacks, but too demanding on other items of clothing, IMHO. In the photo they before shrink. After washing, they sat down and the denim became slightly shaggy.1 point

per @Hopethisoneisnttaken’s request, here are some pics of my belafonte “hi-back trousers” in the dark salt&pepper cotton/linen fabric. Sorry for the non-contrasting background lol, the colours should be accurate at least! I really like the construction of the top block, the waist feels really solid despite the main fabric being pretty light & drapey. Buttons are unobtrusive and don’t cut into me, whether or not I’m wearing a belt. Pocket bag fabric is really nice. The other side has a nice, discreet coin pocket, which I have a little trouble getting to with my thick Duke belt on but less so with a thin dress belt. The fabric is really excellent, it’s one of those materials you get lost staring into whenever you have them on. It’s light and soft but the weave is tight and very sturdy-feeling, and I love how the herringbone patterns swim in and out of one another, it’s truly a beautiful design. Some close ups: and some fit pics now they’ve been worn a few days: Thanks for looking!1 point
