There was a massive downpour yesterday afternoon so i had to bag it off.. this morning my hole was akin to a small pond.. The waterlogged earth now weighs 10x as much! I had a terrible nights sleep.. my body aches in places i never knew existed.. i'm not used to proper work.. woke up early with a hangover. Zero ammount of planning went into this landscaping project.. i'd borrowed a spade from my neighbour and an old wheelbarrow from Pat, my mums friend, jesus, it was a piece of shit!.. the bucket detached from the frame after 3 trips to the skip so this morning i went down to work, got some ply and some redwood to make a longer ramp.. also made a ramp to go down the steps from the path to the pavement... swung by Wickes when it opened and bought myself a new barrow.. a Chillington Camden Classic no less. Pat's barrow is on the left I'll take it to work next week and repair it for her.. at least she can still use it for light gardening work... I didn't really want to buy a new wheelbarrow, once this shiz is done.. the fk am i going to do with it? Neighbours daughter has been banging out The Doors which has been a treat.. I'm down to the clay layer.. fkin nasty No wonder underfoot was like Glastonbury .. I've filled half of an 8 tonne skip today, it doesn't sound like much but i'm digging out solid clay, filling a barrow, walking down the path, through the gennel, down the next path, turn a corner.. down another path, down some steps to the pavement.. up the street, up the ramp and into the skip.. I layed on the grass at 4pm and fell asleep .. the rain hitting my face woke me up.. pfft! Having a beer.. not drinking from 3pm , i should avoid another hangover tomorrow Hopefully Hitoshi Tsujimoto doesn't ban me from his Instagram.. My repairs are holding up pretty well14 points

Quick review of the P46s. I own the P33s and they serve as a great comparison. Pros: Air vents work as intended. Nice circulation from ass to crotch. Definitely will be my go-to summer pant. If you look closely at the inseam vent open photo, there are actually strips of nylon that unfold and serve to keep the vents open. I love the relaxed fit. It's a happy medium between a straight fit and parachute pant. In my opinion, you should go with your regular size. I am 5'-11", 160lbs and I went with my regular size (medium). Much like everyone else, I was worried about the length, but I do think the stacking was intentional. If you look at the left rear quarter photo, there is line of angled stitching on the back of the calf. I think they function to maintain the leg shape. In my experience with other pants of the same baggy fit and thinner fabric, sometimes the leg tends to pinch in the middle making the pants appear like a bootcut fit. This is not the case with the P46s - they retain their full shape at all times. I've had no issue with the hem dragging. Bulkier shoes do help prevent that (as shown in product shots with the LF1s), but it can even be worn with flatter shoes like Vans Old Skools. One trick is to fold the excess fabric inward, creating a "sleeve" that shortens the length. Due to the nature of the fabric, it actually remains in place quite well. I even tried stomping my legs a couple times and the sleeve did not budge. Cons: I do miss the vertical rear side pockets of the P33 but I guess the air vents are the trade off. In a perfect world, one more pair of pockets would have been nice. Although these were featured on some of the Japanese retail sites, the close-up photos of the fly are missing from the mothersite. It features a button at the top, snap enclosures, and a heavy duty YKK zipper. I find opening the fly to take a piss a bit cumbersome. The incorporation of the snap enclosures suggest an ease of access but the top button and zipper contradicts this movement. You are forced to unsnap the enclosures one by one just to pull the zipper down. There is a section of the inseam vent that could be problematic. There is a line of stitching that runs almost perpendicular to the vent zipper that creates a stoppage when unzipping. I worry that this might tear the mesh if one is not careful. Overall, I very satisfied with the pant. It's a nice departure from the balloon or severely tapered cut as of late. I will upload some pics of the P46 with Vans Old Skools tomorrow.14 points

I've been digging some earth from one raised section.. and shoveling it to the next raised section. Exhausting!.. I don't know how Fred West did it? ...also being a kind soul, my (botanist) neighbour Mary has always admired the^ large camellia at the top of our garden so i've carefully excavated under the root bowl and i'm going to plant it in her garden In the nature of the thread.. i was wearing McCoys 003 I'll be filling the skip tomorrow... eventually i'm going to build a green oak pergola on the top section and a seating area on the bottom section.. i'll try to incorporate those vintage brass flip down seats i reclaimed from that doctors surgery which i used for the narrow boat project.5 points

Haven't been for over 3 years now but used to go couple times a year. Each pronto will have a slightly different stock so worth checking more than 1. Siam Square branch I always visited. Plus Central World, Paragon and Emquartier branches. In around Siam you have Selvedge Work for bespoke MTO jeans, Selectiv (Resolute ans some other familiar brands) on the same Soi as Pronto, There's another shop right by it that I can't remember the names thar sells a lot of Orguiel, Pherrows and Jelado. Worth starting at Soi2 for Pronto then zigzag through the neighbouring Sois. Theres a small, by BKK, standards, mall on the same side as Soi 2(opposite Siam Centre/Discovery) called Siam 1 that has a small denim shop in that sells Toys Mcoy and some others. Theres also PTC Mart outside of Siam Square.2 points

Experimenting a little bit today. Came across this oddball jacket while thrifting and picked it up purely for the intersting fabric and pattern (looks like some kind of indigo) to make a scarf or hankie. But then I tried it on and kinda loved the fit. So then it became a self imposed challenge to style it. Let me know what you think. In person, I received a disproportionate and surprising amount of compliments last night. Vintage Barlesoni Homburg $5 sunglasses Weird thrifted cropped sleeve indigo print jacket The Smiths tee Vintage black leather belt Vintage Levi's 517 (black tab, cotton/poly) Grinders western zip boots with snip toe and cowboy heel (cowboy chelsea?) I had been looking for a new pair of cowboy/western ankle boots and after much searching I came across these and took a shot. As you may know Grinders are mainly known for making rugged Doc Marten's punk type boots but they have a Western inspired line (bench made in Mexico, goodyear welt, all leather construction) and so far I'm pretty impressed with the quality and fit especially for the price.2 points

I have no answers.. has anybody seen a cut-off that has rolled 360º or more..? The McCoys I have can be purchased (same price) with or without the cuffs – perhaps they reserve the roll-repudiating terry for the McQueen line. It doesn't quite manage the devil-may-care vibe of The Great Escape original; the raglan sleeves and snug fit make it a little too mannered for that. Then again, Steve McQueen was a smaller guy with fabulous forearms.1 point

I don’t know why Roy’s getting so much flak here. He made good products, seems to be articulate and has a sense of humour. One person had a negative exchange with him, possibly because Roy saw his products as artisanal and didn’t think they should be abused. It’s the customer’s choice what they do with their own clothing BUT if Roy sells direct, then I suppose he can choose who he sells to (unless it’s in breach of regulations relating to discriminatory practices I imagine!). I think Roy knows his brand well and that a rude email wouldn’t damage it or create a backlash, others have had good experiences with him. His business principles seem sound, unlike WH Ranch (pay now and wait 10 years) or CSF (jump through these hoops and sign a dodgy agreement not to resell your jeans). NOTE: I’ve just picked these brands from hearsay on the forum and have no direct experience of either. EDIT: I totally understand @shredwin_206’s annoyance and would probably feel the same way if it was me but I also understand why Roy might have felt like he did (although I don’t believe that justified his response) and don’t think it makes him a bad person. I’m such a fence-sitter. Ouch! Those splinters…1 point
