What's the general consensus on the 1978 501 and the 1962 551z? Anybody got experience with them and/or would like to share measurements?

just received my 50s jacket in OW, size 42. fits well, although the sleeves are a hair longer than i would like. probably the first time i've experienced this issue with japanese garments. i assume it's from the wash process, but all of my buttons look pristine with the exception of one which is super rusty. did anyone else's arrive like this?

I’d say they tapered them very gradually from the mid/lower thigh to the hem on the inseam only. This avoids a sharp taper that might interrupt the flow of the leg I think. I asked for an 8” hem but they are probably 7 3/4”. I used a pair of Ande Whall Buffalo as the target silhouette.

Are these the ones you had tapered? If so was it full leg or from knee? I’m thinking of getting mine down to an 8” hem from nearly 10” they are now

The easiest solution would be to contact N&F and ask them about the buttons on your pair. Either their buttons have always been branded or they weren’t at some point

Not going to lie, I’m kinda into this Freenote bleached western. Not a brand that’s really done it for me before to be honest.

^ Someone like Kiya would be able to say with more certainty, but based on frequency of restocks it seems like the Okinawa sells a lot more than the Hawaii in general. More jeans floating around means more on the secondhand market—simple as that. (Yeah, I've noticed the same thing.)
  15. I also second Sugar Cane. TCB 50s are a great jean as well.

    Self Edge, SF/NY/LA/PDX - updates & info

Buzz Rickson Tie-Dye Camo Shirts & Thermal T-Shirts Buzz Rickson have created a fun new shirt where the camouflage pattern is created by a tie-dye technique using five colors and three separate dye sessions. The shirt comes with an embroidered patch on the chest and was made specially for us without a stencil print on the back. We've also received a run of their short sleeve thermal t-shirts, also made specially for us without any exterior branding. All three of these items are available now at all stores and online. Those are the buttons that Unbranded uses (used?), so they are probably a shorter or limited run.

Sadly I've had to retire my SDA 307 too. I've spend some time on calisthenics for the past 2 years and well...no more room for the quads/harmstrings. So I've just received and washed a pair of DM003, the Denimio collab. The fit is nice, much roomier in the thighs area for the same size tag.

I watch Grailed and Ebay and I see the occasional used Okinawa come up for sale but I never see any 2nd hand Hawaii listed. Is this other's experience as well? Any idea why? I missed a chance at a pair of Okinawa rainbow selvedge about a year ago on Ebay. It was the very early stages of my SC conversion from Levi's and I did not realize the opportunity it was. They still call my name on restless stormy nights...Lol I am sure we each have a similar regret.
  22. Sugar Cane Hawaii & Okinawa also fit the bill.

Hi guys, Hope someone can help me authenticate these pair Jeans that are naked and famous weird guy. I found ut odd that they do not have their name on the buttons.

I was more referring to Errolson & Co... Maybe "cringing" is the wrong word, but it does feel a little out of place to me. I understand the John Mayer connection, given his knowledge and taste in clothing (rather than his music), but Drake just comes across as a little shallow. But, I'm nitpicking. I don't know any of them personally, but from what I can tell, they're all very genuine and humble, and I guess we're all entitled to feel proud if something you made is put on the world stage. TL/DR: Whatever, to each their own, I'm certainly not going to rate anyone's stoke!
