Schoeller dryskin is very abrasion resistant, definitely moreso than etaproof. One reason why its been dubbed a "miracle fabric" is because it combines the abrasion resistance of synthetics (nylon) with the added stretch and comfort of elastane -- the best of both worlds.

I know I'm hella late, but my God, Schoeller Dryskin is the most comfortable fabric I've ever worn on a pair of pants. Not to mention it's stretch and water resistance. Looking forward to everyday use of the P10-DS this summer, despite it's low abrasion resistance (compared to ch/s).

    Pure Blue Japan

Denim really came to life after the wash, I wonder how they dye their black denim because it doesn't have the sulphur smell you usually see with black denim. They're definitely skinnier than I am used to, but I think they fit pretty well for a tapered fit? I'm going to stick with straighter legged jeans but it's nice to have a black pair that's a little slimmer.

Yeah, I think that will work fine @JohnM My Ooes are a little more snug than the new collab jeans but I wouldn't advise to size down.

^ That's good enough for me Bobbo (and also how I measure the waist -- put on em the bed flat and measure across the top). If you're a 35 in Ooe and I'm a 36, I must be a 36 in these jeans, as I think you said several pages ago ;-)

fantastic, what a lovely pair. THey will be probably made from Cone, Levi's Japan sourced from there for the main models. Yup, they did tend to have nicer 2-horse patches.

@JohnM I was lazy and didn't align them like BiG does. Just buttoned them up, put them on the floor and measured them. Sadly the jeans are in Göteborg Manufakturs store now so people can see them and try them on, so I can't measure them myself. But it's easy to just send the boys a message and I'm sure they'll sort it out if you want it BiG-style!

i like these japanese repros for their nice leather patches, which always looked more authentic to me than the ones of US repros.

I don't think anyone here was saying/implying you were lying @cameosis. It just sounded a little off compared to other tanneries (besides Horween and Shinki Clayton and Comipel was near the same price range. Don't know what Rocinante, Argentina tannery, sell theirs.) That being said, with more research the 40 euros is pretty close to what Rocado, an Italian tannery, is offering theirs directly on their site ($66/sq ft) which if you were on good relations or bought a significant portion would probably bring it down further.

Can anyone with the 601XX 1951 comment on the size of the pocket openings? How big are they/ease of use?

Bobbo, It sounds like we can add about 4cm to these numbers for stretch. So a size 35's post wash waist of 42cm as above (16.5" or 33" overall) will stretch to about 46cm (34.5"). And when you say the 'waist is measured flat', you mean the BIG method (i.e., laying the jeans fly up and measuring across the top), right? John

Fair enough and my apologies if you feel offended. The blog author Vegtan archives many articles and surely very informative. As said before, I have never heard of 40 euro sq.ft. That was the point. 105 euro that you linked is very good! Thanks for the website! And as you said in point c), I am just a customer and I can only say the retail price from the customers point of view. edit: Thanks to ALB, $66 is definitely competitive! answer to the add-on: No, I only asked to two as it was considered the only tanneries handle cordovan. At the same time, I have talked to the owner of the F.E.W (leather jacket/products company at NewZealand) and he said the same about the cordovan. I actually have not asked to Shinki and Horween about other tanneries.

Thank you @Maynard Friedman and @beautiful_FrEaK That confirmation just sends chills up & down my spine. The 1937 is my favorite cut. Maybe I will just find a free-standing glass display and place these as the focal point of my home. Hermetically sealed and UV glass, ofcourse.
