@ALB Just lined up my two size 33 pairs, and they’re pretty much a perfect match from waist to inseam to hem. The OA denim does shrink a bit more than the #17 denim after a couple washes, so I would expect the saddle pants to get a tiny bit slimmer in the long run. My pair has been worn a few times, but not seen a second wash yet.

I've had no problems with my Fullcounts Cold Summer, but most of them were raw to begin with. True, the arcuate stitching fades pretty quickly, but otherwise fine.

Hahah don’t get me wrong Roy makes good jeans but no jeans are worth spending $500

    What about Jeans Jackets ....

I figured by pleats, you meant the normal folded "layer" style seen on a traditional type 2. My mistake.

    Vintage Denim?

All this makes me think that somewhere out there there's a pair of 505's with a button fly.

I have a pair of Levi’s Japan 503 BSSX from 1991 in natural indigo. I had some photos in the LVC thread but the links are no longer working, I’ll try to take some more soon and re-post. EDIT: they are a size 33.

    What about Jeans Jackets ....

It's a lovely jacket. Obviously, it does have pleats though...?

I’ve seen jeans marked 503bxx as big as a 30 waist

    Vintage Denim?

Yes possibly, but I would have thought 28 x 28 would be too big for a junior size???
  21. Flash

    Vintage Denim?

My guess would be junior sized , along the same lines as the 503bxx / 503zxx

I'll just stick this here to muddy the waters a bit more... I have no idea what a 553BXX is.

    Full Count Denim Thread

I tend to think that the rough process of the tumble dry one-wash is what's causing this thread damage. I would've bought these raw if I could find them anywhere with the arcs+tab, though. I did some hand repairs on Saturday and I think mine are okay (for now, anyway.) With the arcuate stitching, I'm pretty sure that's on purpose. I really like how FC's jeans look after the arcuate thread is worn away, so this isn't really a concern for me, anyway.

@JDelage I have this one. Flat Head 6006W. Most people don't like the style but i enjoy it.

I have a pair of 0105 that were raw and I have had no problems with the stitching either. I did give my pair quite a lot of washing as I felt there was quite a bit of shrinkage in them that didn't come out with my usual routine, I think I even gave them a 60 degree wash which is rare for me. The only thing that did happen is that all the print disappeared from the patch but the patch itself is fine, just blank. I do find that there is definitely something weird that they do with the stitching on the arcs on the back pockets though, almost like it's braille, it really does seem to be raised a bit higher than all the other stitching. All the rest of the threads are settled in nicely but the arcs seem to be popping out just asking to be worn down.

I see what you mean, I took a look at the 3 pairs of pink selvedge pairs today and the only one that looks like it has any thing interesting going on hardware wise is the Lot 1101, the other 2 have hardware that looks exactly like your pair of 1001xx on page 268. The rivets have the "K.K." rather than the earlier "O.K." and the buttons have the powdery white-ish finish, which as per @kameidaclub post, also in page 268, means they're post 2002. The lot 1101 have hardware like this... The fly buttons look the exact same as the Full Count 0105 buttons, almost like they're made by the same company, which they probably are.(???) They also have the period correct non push through rivets with the nickel backing, which you should be able to see here... Incidentally, not that I want to be mister enabler, but the pictures above come from this listing, which is for a pair of Lot 1101 in size 32, which are the exact same as my pair in 34. They are very good value at their current price and if you're a 32 waist and looking for a perfect pair of 66 cut jeans, I'd say go for them.
