@81FXR You’re right, LVC have done ‘proper’ women’s ranges int he past, rather than a token one or two models. -
SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)

Nice, thanks all. I might’ve imagined the better choice in LVC but I’m sure I remember going into Cinch in Soho and seeing a decent range of women’s styles somewhere in-line with the styles available to men. This was obviously a number of years ago, still Cone days. TCB Norma look nice but like the Anatomica only seem to go up to about a 30. I actually have a bnwt pair of 0105 sitting in the closet which she tried and with the right waist size might work well. Dawson looks like a good option also! -

“Selection” is maybe the limiting criterion. Lots of brands seem to do one or two okay women’s cuts, these days, but no one seems to have more than a couple of options. Meanwhile, obviously all jeans are more or less gender agnostic in principle, but how well they work in practice depends completely on body type. Around how is your partner shaped? If they’re big in the hips and don’t fit well into standard men’s jeans, the TCB Norma could be a really good option; I’ve also seen curvier women friends make ‘90s Cane’s work well. -

@81FXR I think LVC are running the 701 at the moment: https://www.levi.com/US/en_US/levis-vintage-clothing/levis-vintage-clothing-for-women/1950s-701-womens-jeans/p/507010036 edit: actually, looking at the silhouette pictures of these, they don’t fit the bill - look very tapered which I wouldn’t expect from a 50s model (but I’m no expert on women’s fits). -

My Kyotos in size 32 fit almost identically to Resolute 710 in 33. They are slightly lower rise and a little less tapered, though.
-
Yeah, your patch actually looks super cool! I probably should've applied some Obenaufs to the patch before I wash/dried it...
-
looks like my patch, but I used only 30 degrees wash and NO machine dry...

That makes sense. I just looked at Bear's measurements for Resolute 710 and they are very similar for a given waist. Resolute 710 is actually even 2 cm higher rise, 0.5 cm wider in thigh, and 1 cm wider in leg opening. I'm concerned that even the Resolute would be too tight for my frame, so the Kyotos are a no-go for me. I did end up snagging a Denime 232 jacket from Celluloid to solve my Type 2 fix. It was a hard choice over WH 2002xx, but I figured that it was a good chance to try out Denime. In reality, it probably won't be hugely different from the 2002xx based on the Denime by Warehouse jeans - will probably grab a pair of 220a when back in stock or new 1954 when it arrives.
-
Yeah, the Kyoto is rather slim. Has similarities to the Resolute 710. I am still searching for a W36 in this cut because of the slimmer nature.
-
Are the Kyotos pretty low rise and narrow through the thighs? These actually should fit my waist and inseam, but I fear that the rise and thigh would be too tight for me.

Found a really good rock to match the Foreman pants Been wearing these a lot lately

Railcar makes women’s, but I’m not sure about their current offerings. so does Raleigh Denim, but they’re comically overpriced even as they’re quite well made. Honestly I’d try a pair of fullcount 0105s - I’ve thought about getting a pair for my wife.
