Just the right amount of rips, is how we would like to refer to our most recent collaboration with Japan Blue Jeans. Taking that distressed, dressed down, summer look, we applied a quintessentially Japanese Indigo dyed fabric known as Sashiko to this piece. So although there are what seem to be visible rips in the jeans, all the holes are repaired by a style of stitching known as darning, with a beautiful silver colored thread.

Although a 16.5oz. of Selvedge denim, once rinsed and distressed to this level, they are surprisingly comfortable and feel ideal from the first wear. Like one of your heavily broken in pairs of Selvedge that after a couple knee and leg blowouts underwent some surgery from the denim doctor. Raw denim will always be the holy grail, with the entire breaking in process of a new pair being just like art, as each pair takes on a life of its own depending on the users wear and tear. This project allowed us to use what we deemed to be a perfect Indigo dyed Sashiko fabric in a truly unique and innovative way.
