that is the place to go, also the best finds are found at value village.

and along queen west there are a bunch of trendy places, but you should alteast walk that area anyways.

Yeah I say Kensington Market too, some good deals can be found just off the main area there. When I was there last they got good deals on military surplus stuff.

For Vancouver I'd say Value Village, try the one in Burnaby that seems to be the best, the one on Hastings usually gets picked out, the one on Victoria Dr is okay. The rest is a waste of time.

Jean Queen is a good place for decent prices the store is small but it's worth stopping by if your on Commercial Dr.

The hip vintage places in Vancouver charges a grip for gear.

Toronto:

If you have a car check Goodwill (By the pound location). Its not located downtown T.O anymore but may be worth the trip since your not looking for the typical hipster shops such as the ones located in Kensington.
Thrift Town in Parkdale. Haven't been in awhile but it used to be good.
There are a lot of small vintage shops located all over the city so you may want to check the local yellowpages, canada 411 etc....

Atlas is the best in Seattle IMO. It's on Broadway, there are a lot of other thrift stores there as well.

In Toronto:
99 Vintage, which is by the bar called "The Social" has a strong reputation. My favourite is this store called Cabaret, also on West Queen West. It's owner is the nicest person in Toronto, and they have a good selection of stuff.
