Well I just got back from Mumbai last month. I travel quite a bit to India, almost 5-6 times a year and spend most of my time in Delhi/Mumbai so I think I might be able to suggest some places.

Where in Mumbai will you be staying? When I go to Mumbai I stay at the Leela hotel and usually take a cab out to Enigma at the JW Marriot which is near Juhu beach. Enigma is still the best club in Mumbai imo. Only downside is the cover charge to get in is over $50(US) so be warned. There is no cover charge if you stay at the hotel.

I've also been told that Poison is the new 'prime' spot in Mumbai. I did stop by last month and because my job is broadcast related we're usually escorted around by people who know the party scene pretty well in Mumbai and around India. I actually enjoyed Poison. Pretty big club and tons of hot women. It's also a hang out for Bollywoods A list stars so you know the crowd is usually the who's who of Mumbai and India with the hottest women you will ever see.

If you want a nice lounge to have a few drinks and chill out, check out Vie lounge on Juhu beach. I'll see if I can get a hold of my friend in Mumbai and see if he can recommend some other clubs/lounges I might have forgot about. By the way, most 5 star hotels have pretty decent clubs and lounges so you might want to check that out. Be warned though, India has become very expensive and some of these places charge unbelievable money for drinks and food.

This is fucking insane. We don't have cover charges like that even in LA. I lived in Delhi for 2 years growing up and can't imagine anyone paying $50 to get into an Indian nightclub......really shows how much things have changed.

Yup, things have really changed in India. I remember going to India like 10 years ago with my father and things were so cheap and everyone would be wow'd by westerns and the toys they brought with them. Now, it's a different story. The middle class has grown and everything we have in NA is available in India. Tons of people have money and with money come higher standards plus India like China has really advanced in the last 10 years.

to add to what jummych00 said, you should as well check

Lounges/Bars:

Olive Bar & kitchen: Union Park 14, Khar

Blue Frog (opened last month): Mathuradas Mills Compound, NM Joshi Marg, Lower Parel

Zenzi: 183, waterfield road, bandra west

Seijo & the Soul Dish: Waterfield road in Banda, nearby Zenzi

Bohemia: 5 Juhu Tara Road, Juhu

Vie Lounge & Deck(102, Juhu Tara Road, Juhu) in Juhu was by far my favorite place in Mumbai. And good food.

Clubs:

Bling at The Leela, nearby the intl airport.

Squeeze, S.V. Road, Khar Behind Hotel Maurya

Ra Club in Phoenix Mills (see below) isn't bad neither.

Poison is probably the best clubs in town in my opinion, music-wise (I'm a hip hop listener).

Second would be Enigma: I don't know if it still on but fridays used to be Hip hop VH1 nights in Enigma.

I used to go at this club called RockBottom in Juhu because the DJs were off the hook. (Hotel Ramme Guestline, 452 A B Nair Road, Juhu)

Please be aware of 2 things:

1: The cover for most of these places will be around 1500 to 2500 rupees / PER COUPLE. If you're a shag, you might have trouble getting in and you'll anyway pay the same price. Team up with a single indian girl, she'll like you.

2: Taxis/rickshaws driver don't know how to get to place with adresses. Get a landmark at your hotel. If they don't know, called the club/restaurant you're going to and ask them for a landmark.

And 3: Clubs in 5 stars hotel (Bling, Enigma, ...) closes later (3-5 am).

Shopping:

Except for the shopping centres

: In Orbit: Mindspace, New Link Rd Malad (W) Mumbai 400 064

: CrossRoads: Royal Garden, Dr. Annie Beasant Road, Worli,Mumbai 400 018

: Phoenix Mall: 462, Senapati Bapat Marg, Lower Parel, Mumbai 400 013

the Juhu beach neighborhood for clothes shops (some indian designers).

i.e.

D.stress, 176, Juhu Tara Rd. Near Vie Lounge, Juhu, Mumbai 400 049.

Rocky S is facing D.Stress.

Mumbai had by far the best nightlife, clubs and lounges in every cities I've been to (read: in my budget). I highly recommend it.

I had a list of restaurants as well, just lemme know if you're interested.

And don't hesitate to ask questions as I lived there for some time and still have friends around so I guess I could answer most of the questions that comes up.

*edit*: i still might have some contacts for photoshoot or figuring in bollywood movies, if that sounds interesting, pm me.

cheers.
