No End In Sight

The first film of its kind to chronicle the reasons behind Iraqs descent into guerilla war, warlord rule, criminality and anarchy, NO END IN SIGHT is a jaw-dropping, insiders tale of wholesale incompetence, recklessness and venality. Based on over 200 hours of footage, the film provides a candid retelling of the events following the fall of Baghdad in 2003 by high ranking officials such as former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage, Ambassador Barbara Bodine (in charge of Baghdad during the spring of 2003), Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff to Colin Powell, and General Jay Garner (in charge of occupation of Iraq through May 2003), as well as Iraqi civilians, American soldiers and prominent analysts. NO END IN SIGHT examines the manner in which the principal errors of US policythe use of insufficient troop levels, allowing the looting of Baghdad, the purging of professionals from the Iraqi government and the disbanding of the Iraqi militarylargely created the insurgency and chaos that engulf Iraq today.

Crumb(1994) R

Director Terry Zwigoff spent six years compiling this portrait of the underground cartoonist whose characters Fritz the Cat and Mr. Natural became counterculture icons. Candid interviews with Robert Crumb and his spouses, offspring, siblings and peers render a compelling profile of a tormented man who transcended a harrowing upbringing to produce stunningly original art. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.

Power of Nightmares, The Rise of Political Fear

This is a BBC Documentary written and produced by Adam West. West draws a parallel of similarities between the origins and rise of Neo-Conservatism movement and the radical Islamic movement. The documentary argues that the threat of Al-Qaeda is a myth perpetrated by politicians, not only American, to inspire and ultimately unite them--in an attempt to make up for the failure of liberal and utopian ideologies.

Film was showed in the Cannes Flim Festival; film runs in 3 parts : 1/3 Baby Its Cold Outside, 2/3 The Phantom Victory, 3/3 Shadows in the Cave

Lagerfeld confidential

For the first time Karl Lagerfeld has agreed to let someone create an artwork on his every day life and to trust in the director. Until today there is no authorised biography existing and the memories who Karl Lagerfeld would compose stay perfectly confidential.

After three years of work, and over three hundred hours of footage, Rodolphe Marconi discloses the daily life of the star through his personal lens as a filmmaker.

you can get it on torrents with english subtitles.

Jesus Camp

Jesus Camp follows several young children as they prepare to attend a summer camp where the kids will get their daily dose of evangelical Christianity. Becky Fischer works at the camp, which is named Kids on Fire. Through interviews with Fischer, the children, and others, Jesus Camp illustrates the unswerving belief of the faithful. A housewife and homeschooling mother tells her son that creationism has all the answers. Footage from inside the camp shows young children weeping and wailing as they promise to stop their sinning. Child after child is driven to tears. Juxtapose these scenes with clips from a more moderate Christian radio host (who is appalled by such tactics), and Jesus Camp seems to pose a clear question: are these children being brainwashed?

Dark Days

This is one of my favourite docos i've ever watched...

It's about a group of homeless people who lived in an abandoned part of the NY underground railway system. The soundtrack was done by DJ Shadow.

Ross kemp on Gangs

Comaeternal i have to agree with you on the Ross Kemp on Gangs: El salvador... His whole series is pretty intense to watch but is definately more enjoyable to watch than other docos about gangs.

Taxi to the Dark side

This is a pretty contraversial doco about an Afghani taxi driver who was beaten to death by American soldiers in Belgram. It also looks at America's torture and interrogation policies. This doco definately hits a nerve.

Just for Kicks

Doco about sneakers & sneaker culture

Rock the Bells

This is about Wu Tang Clan's last live performance with all of it's members reunited to perform at Rock the Bell's music festival. It pretty much shows the stress the organisers had to go through to put on the event and also how dangerous the show became because of the ridiculous amount of people who turned up

^^^Just caught this doc on HBO (actually the last half hour, gotta watch the whole thing) -- really made me feel that we have become no better than our enemies!! Def a prob with doc's though is that you are pretty much going to be only getting one point of view, so it can really make you question your own---I suppose that's also a good thing, too! Anyways: think it's def worth watching!!!
