Burgus Plus by Hinoya

I was browsing around Hickoree's floor two and found they had just received a shipment of Burgus Plus 700, 770, and one other model I can't remember (it had leather disks between the pockets and the hidden rivets).

I tried on the 770 in a 34 and thought they fit great.  I wasn't really planning to buy anything, but I asked the price and to my great surprise they were selling for only $154! WOW.  Needless to say I bought a pair.  I remember Peter Parker's pair of Burgus Plus from the HWDC looked great.

The denim seems very "Japanese" (hairy, slubby, irregular) but I'm not sure if it actually is Japanese at this price (I didn't bother to do any research yet).  The denim is pretty dark, 15oz I think, seems unsanforized, and sold one wash.  They come without arcs and the red tab has been cut off, but the remnants are still visible.  They have all the details I would expect in a pair of high end japanese jeans.

I haven't taken any measurements yet, but the size 34 seems smaller than that, so I think it probably shrinks from tag size.

Pics and measurements to come!

Measurements for a size 34 (one-wash)

waist: 33.75", after wearing for a few days so with some stretch

inseam: 33.5"

thigh: 12" measured from inseam to outer edge, 12.5" measuring the entire width of the fabric when laid flat

front rise: 10.5" (pretty short for this size I think)

knee: 9.25

hem: 8.75"

I could use another .5 - 1" on the front rise but otherwise I think these have an ideal fit for me.  I'll try to get some pics over the weekend

I have about three months of wear on my Burgus Plus Lot 770, and they are starting to show some good progress:

My overall impression on these is fairly neutral.  The denim is nice enough, but the details and construction leave much to be desired.  The stitching is overall pretty sloppy and the stitch per inch is very high compared to my pair of Roy.  The buttons also seem fairly cheap.  However, given these were only $150 (and the denim itself is pretty nice) I can't say I expected more.

Here is a comparison of the waistband stitching with my Roy:

I've still been wearing these most of the time, but have gotten a bit bored of them and was rotating my Samurais in to spice things up. However, I got them out in the sun yesterday and it reiterated that even inexpensive denim can have beautiful colors and texture.

lovely natural indigo model by burgus plus, lot 968xx loosely based on a 60's cut, but rather on a loose sise of things.

I think this is fairly new but might be wrong as I don't check often burgus plus.

don't like the leather patch reinforcements on the back pockets but the cut and fabric look really nice.
