actually, peeps who machine dry on the getgo/more frequently achieve more pronounced puckering on the seams, hems, & pocket edges, due to [more drastic] shrinkage. hence, more visible ataris.

down-side__ it'll be harder/take longer to develop creases, especially honeycombing.

Here's my N&F Greencast 12.5oz denim. Weird Guy fit, size 34.

Purchased a little over a month ago, worn hard daily. I work in these and bike all over hell's creation in brutal Boston heat. Surprised how fast these have faded in certain areas. Thinking it might be time to toss these in the tub to preserve the crotch...

I like nice denim, but it's hot as fuck in Texas. So 9 months out of the year I just wear shorts. And I only have one pair, which are $10 Rustlers I bought for work pants a year and a half ago. Not the prettiest, but I've machine washed them probably a dozen times, given them a few rinses, gone swimming in them a lot, and gotten them super dirty.

Not sure if there's a better topic to post this under but this one seems the most relevant... My friend just gave me a couple pairs of antique jeans. he found them in an old farmhouse in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan. They have some really great details including lots of period repairs. Not sure how old these are but judging from the long rise and other details I would guess 1910-1920. the first pair are Big Mac with cinch back and button fly.

the second pair are Standard Overall Company, no back yoke, button fly. These are missing part of one leg but still are just beautiful.

He also gave me a salt & pepper chambray work shirt that appears to be the same era. The work shirt is made by Big Leed. Pretty cool, huh?

It's nice to know I'm not the only person who can trash jeans in under a year!!!!

Expecting new jeans in about a fortnight so once I know how to upload pics. I'll give you their life's history from arriving in DHL box until the death - these were quite pricy as 21oz but hopefully aiming for 2 years which would be a record for ne.

Also planning 19oz pair next January - will post evo pics of those too

quick shots of my bsps. 6.5 months light wear. initial soak + 1 soak at 4 months, 0 washes

now almost at 10 months with a wash at 7.5 and a soak at 9. unedited pictures.

really stubborn jeans, in my opinion

about 15 months. were washed at 11.5 months, and now again just washed for the 3rd time. unedited pics; colors got a little washed out. more contrast in person.

fh bsp 19 months of wear, give or take a month. 4 washes. post repair and hem. falling apart; multiple crotch, pocket, and comb rips, yoke stitching is all gone, belt loop came off, etc. getting these repaired again soon.

Wish i could have waited longer to wash, but damn, they sure needed it. Sweaty bike rides and beer-soaked from so many house shows and days at the river, drinking beer of course.
