I wish Jacksonville got some good guests. I never see or hear of them or know if they are even a thing.

Sorry for spamming, but I'm really excited that my backpiece is going to happen from April on. And it was awesome to see uncle allan's conspiracy inc. - an awesome huge house filled with all kinds of interesting stuff (and in the house where David Bowie and Iggy Pop lived a while). Definitely worth a visit, if you get the chance.

I feel you, I like jason donahue and holly ellis tho, but thats coming from someone who has no really traditional tattoos. I've only got work from erik jacobsen and someone that was guesting.

Only other shops ive got work on were at Analog (Mutsuo, three tides, guest spot), Castro (friday the 13th $13) and Everlast (Stefan Johnnson, hes kind of a resident). Analog is a beautiful shop, more like a gallery. Castro - I wouldn't go for anything other than the $13 deal. Everlast - Cool little shop. Stefan used to be there every Friday, not sure he still does. But he;s a good option for traditional stuff.

Edit - Chuck Donahue is gonna be here in March I think. Not sure where. Might be up your alley

^spider murphy's in san rafael

Austin Maples though! I really like his style. Really clean traditional work.

I watch Austin Maples stuff.  It is just a good bare bones traditional it has this really tough appeal to it, almost rigid

They're doing 'get what you get/want' tomorrow by the way

thanks for the suggestions guys. i actually took my friend to idle hand this weekend because she wanted some ink (http://instagram.com/p/yi-Q0iBuFw/?modal=true). i actually like that piece a lot, so maybe ill consider a walk-in for something small when i'm in the area or something.

anyway its been a while since i posted any ink in this thread, so here's a shitty pic of a little thing i got from eli in october or november. inner bicep

i might be missing something here, but are there any really good trad artists in the bay area? hopefully i'm just not aware of them, but i'm really missing the ny guys right now. quinters, boltz, cross, even hillary... any suggestions?

idk if anyone got to you yet, but warhorse in berkeley is fantastic.

^ i got my first "real" tattoos at warhorse by paul bosch. He's no longer there i believe, but steve campisi is amazing imo as well. However i don't really recall the shop being a destination for american trad style stuff..

Also- i may have asked this before, but suggestions for best b/w portraiture tattooists in NYC?

Sorry late to the party but if you want to give that a name they look like Moroccan wedding henna tattoos... This might help you with the design. http://www.kenzi.com/LearnMorocco.html

Funny we just talked about Bailey H Robinson the other day! Seems he's coming to Oslo this summer! Hopefully I'll get something done by him. I was supposed to take a break from getting any more work. But right now I have about 4 new ones one the horizon. Nothing is booked yet, though!
