Apologies for the food overload, but we like to eat!

Since then, I made it back to Moscow. I took one of the new gins purchased in Scotland to my favorite bartender to see what can be done about that - she made us cocktails...

I've been to Scotland on numerous occasions, I have family there and lots of family who moved from there (mainly around Glasgow), but you have made Scotland look so amazing that I now want to go back and see everything I have missed. Great pics Foxy.

Foxy, stupid question maybe but how do you communicate efficiently in the places you live in?  I believe you went from China to Russia,  do you speak any of the native languages?  The last time I was in Europe was like 1996 so maybe times have changed and English is more widely spoken?? ( i  know it is, but im just curious...)

Hmmm, sounds like exactly my style.  I'll have to see if I can find some of that one.

Loved your leg of the tour, by the way.

Amazing Fox. Pictures of Nuremberg remind me of my trip to Frankfurt.

HC - this one was fruity, but really sour. Not sure it got many good reviews...

Bradl - the pictures where of Weimar, the village of the German classics.

GG in space - we all had to learn 2 additional languages in school. Most Germans will also speak English and French. Depending on where they live and their preferences they might also speak Italian and Spanish. Germans like to travel and often try pick up the respective languages as good as possible.

I worked in German companies where the office language was English and not German - having a lot of office colleagues from all over the world, working with colleagues in different markets and sourcing in Asia will force you to go for a common language: English.

When we moved to China and lived their for almost 4 years we took language lessons in Mandarin, but work and office was always in English...(not to mention that my wife is American)

I didn't get to use my Mandarin much and didn't learn much and forgot even more...

Moving to Russia was a little different - a new company and the office language is not English. But, in the end they also source from Asia and communicate mostly in English. We had/have translators, but after 3 years most meetings are held in English and all outside communication is in English. A few of my colleagues speak German from their school days or learnt it in university.

Not sure if I will start learning Russian over the next couple of years, but you can't help to pick up the essentials.

Great updates Foxy, Brew Dog is pretty good.

Just to contribute to the beer talk I went out to Jester King here in Austin, had some great beer.

Also managed to get a bottle of Prairie Pirate Bomb, fantastic stuff.

Oh, I so want to try that one.  I need to go to Jester King, but their limited hours are a killer for me.  I wish they had a higher volume, so that they could bottle more styles and distribute more consistently.  I keep getting emails from the brewery that make me consider making the 6 hour round trip just to buy a bottle or two of beer.  Colour Five was the most recent to grab my interest.

This was a small keg they had from batch four, they added some pink peppercorn to it and you could really taste it.

I've had a few of the other batches without the peppercorn and it's really interesting.

Honestly I would say the trip out to Jester King is worth it, show up at noon on a Saturday and spend the afternoon drinking great beer and eating some pretty good pizza too.

I managed to grab a bottle of Color Five and Omniscience & Proselytism when I was up there.

Also they have a good selection of import beers, grabbed a De Ranke XX bitter and a Jaipur IPA.

Living 20 minutes from Jester King has made me really spoiled!
