Evolution of Leather Goods: Before and After Pictures

Recommended Posts

Some great items on this thread.

Here are some quick and dirty pics of the leather goods that are in rotation.

Every item (expect for the Red Moon wallet obviously) was made by a close friend mostly of vintage materials, so

there's history behind the materials and the making of it.

This lighter case was custom made from Red Wing leather.

This belt was made by my good friend. It's made of untanned Cordovan leather. I've worn it almost everyday for a year and a half. I have never treated it or tanned it.

the brass buckle is from a WWII ammo pouch

you can barely see some of the blueish green oxidation of the brass getting on the leather

and the blue from the denim rubbing off

Leather cuff was also made by my good friend and is made of WWII ammo leather

is bees wax an appropriate method for moisturizing leather without hurting it? if oil is not at your immediate disposal

It's good for sealing reptile leather :)

I usually wax cowhide leather only after oiling though - don't think you'd want to wax it before some oils get into the leather.

This may be quite late, 1 week ago....Sorry MikeS, wasn't checking this thread until now.

The wallet is progressing nicely, slow and steady. Grains, petina and colour are all evolving all together :)
