-- Indigo dyed sweatpants

-- LVC 1947, new ones with the aluminum anno buttons lol.  I paid retail but fit is key.  The back pocket spread is a big concern of mine and the only way to be sure is to look at it in person, in hand.

recommend getting either Boncoura 66 model or Franklin Tailored 501 model.

Both brands based in japan, and do not know whether shops offer international shipping, but those are the only brands i would wear else than OOE. a bit pricy but worth the cost.

btw i have sold like 18 pairs of jeans that i used to possess, and only left with 5 including OOE.

here are the reasons for boncoura to be pricey.

1. cotton used for the fabric is combined from several different plants.

the designer is said to have tried 100 different combinations.

2. the fabric is woven carefully so that its heavy and soft at the same time.

in the rainy seasons, the production stops due to the high humidity.

3. 5 different thread are sewn by vintage sewing machine.

4. all the bottons and rivets are originally made for the brand by ykk.

5. the leather patch is specially tanned for the brand.

overall the denim is produced by selected craftsman.

the two brands arent repro brand.

well franklin tailored isnt a denim brand, but rather a luxury mens clothing brand like thome brown.

even then, the denim produced is pretty darn special.

the zipper used is vintage semi-auto talon ripper.

it also uses silk of the pocket bang and waist part for comfort touch.

of course, the fabrics used are specially produced for the brand.

Not to cross pollinate thread's but I'd love for all/any participants of the Ooe contest to join the up and coming TCB contest:

http://supertalk.superfuture.com/index.php/topic/155613-tcb-happy-jeans-contest/

*fre-co and rayw44, looking forward to thrashing another pair with you guys!

TCB is a great brand of guys with a top product. IMO the 50's pair shares a lot of the same aesthetic and qualities we look for in jeans as we do with Ooe and you gotta love supporting the little guy. Please feel free to message me if you're on the fence and I'll see what I can do to convince you all to join! ;) It'll be great to do a brand like TCB justice as we did with the Ooe thread!

Regards and yoroshiku!

Any updates on the prize? Curious to see them once they're eventually completed!

Also still wearing my pair religiously...Haven't gotten them repaired yet either and haven't washed for 2ish months because I don't think they could handle it! Updates this weekend...

both myself and Jyoni are still trying to get into contact with ooe ..... no luck yet

I did hear back, but only that the prize is not yet available.  I will try them again now that they seem to have momentum going again.

Small wishful thinking...

Would be nice if Ryo & Hiro post something about the conclusion of the competition on their blog as a sort of official closure to this whole thing.
