Immediately south of the 'b' in Hans Brinker, you'll find De Kring</a> which is a members-only bar for artists (painters, film makers and so on). It is open to the public during weekends. Good parties every now and then. http://www.kring.nl

It's located on the first floor, above the Palladium bar, next to City movie theater.

Where the 'g' in Melkweg is on the map, you will find a few of the most popular bars in Amsterdam now: (from north to south)

- Weber

- Lux

- Kamer 401

Opposite the street is an old cinema called Calypso. The lobby is currently used for parties every friday night. Sometimes parties on saturdays. Check www.clubcalypso.nl for info and how to obtain an invitation.

A new club opened earlier this year called The Sugar Factory. The former occupant of the building was a club called Amuse. Sugar Factory is situated in the same block as Jimmy Woo, but opposite the Melkweg on the Lijnbaansgracht, right next to Cinecenter and Splash Health Club.

Opposite Jimmy Woo, next to Suzy Wong, Casper Reinders is opening a new venue this week, called Vuong. There will be three levels, starting off with a restaurant on the ground floor, a cocktail bar on first and a members-only club called La Perle Noir on the third floor.

it is, hope the interior hasn't changed!

Next to Goodies, on the left side, there's Zipper, a must see second hand, vintage, jeans n everything shop. It is still my dream to run into a pair of way to well worn-in selvage pair price 35euro's or something in there, yeah I'll keep dreamin... Nice collection of Levi's Red aswel, great vintage colberts.

Not on the map but must be added: club 11, on the 11th floor (12th for english natives) of the old post office sorting centre next to central station: great club, better view! You tell me how many clubs with windows and downtown city over-views you know!
