hi maynard, i see you've got a few multiple pairs of the same jeans. i've sometimes considered doing this as well. how do you feel once you've actually done it?

I have a similar situation - mostly because of the following reasons:

- outgrew original size

- wrong sizing on the original pair

- old, worn-in pair and new pair to bs broken-in

Ooms,

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by how I feel, so I'll apply my own interpretation - definitely poorer! Seriously, if I really like a pair of jeans or see a pair at a good price I'll buy a second pair. The first Japanese jeans I got into (having previously worn vintage/second-hand 501s) were Edwin Waynesvilles and I've had 5 pairs of them since 2002 - I recently gave a pair to my brother-in-law, along with some ED-69s. More recently I've sold 2 pairs of SD-101s as I simply have too many pairs and want to wear some of the others in my collection - 4 pairs was a little extreme! There is one pair of jeans I currently have that I'll buy a second pair of but that is it for duplicates.

All my duplicates are the same size, so no issues there as long as I can maintain my current weight! If you really like a pair then go for it, especially if they are a limited edition or deadstock. I still have jeans on my wishlist (Sugar Cane Okinawa, Ande Whall 13.5oz Buffalo, SDA-101XX) but am operating a strictly 1-in, 1-out policy, so the duplicates offer me some leeway for this in the future without compromising my collection.

Hope that makes some sense!

you read my mind, maynard. thanks for that. i guess sometimes i feel like i'd be missing out on experiencing a new model if i bought another pair of the same jeans. but maybe i only feel this way because i haven't got access to ed's bank account. and i'm also in that pre-collecting stage when i still feel like i've got to wear all the gears i own. nevertheless, i am thinking of getting a duplicate of one of my jeans, but in a size up, to accommodate (my) waist stretch.

ByBeatle volume 1

Momotaro 0701

Studio D'Artisan 103

Edwin Nashville

Pure Blue Japan x Blue in Green XX013

Pure Blue Japan 005BK

Samurai S0500XX (no longer wear these)

Tellason - can't remember the cut. Lost their shape and stretch beyond belief very quickly so were quickly relegated to my DIY jeans. Terrible.

I've owned more, but tend not to hang onto jeans once they're too knackered to wear.

For now I think I'm done , we are heading to Hong Kong around September time next year to visit some of Sarah's family and are going to make time for a trip to Tokyo while we are there so I'll be sure to pick a few pairs up there ... Thinking evisu 2000 no.1 and possibly RMC 001 ( if they fit )

I always wear just one pair every day in a row never ever washed or soaked. My current Iron Heart 25 oz jeans are on wear day 530 now. If too worn out I downgrade them from my office to my outdoor pants and when falling completely apart I downgrade them as my work pants on construction sites or for forest work. Beside those 3 jeans (Iron Heart, Strike Gold, Nudie) and 3 denim jackets (Iron Heart, Lee 101j, Lee Storm Rider 101lj), I have too many jeans and denim jackets on my raw denim waiting list: Eat Dust, Lee 22 oz, Nudie Regular Ralf from 2005. Atelier La Durance from 2008, Strike Gold 23 oz, Naked and Famous 32 oz, and many more..... Beside this, there are about 7'000 heaviest faded jeans and 5'000 denim jackets rescued from the garbage bin since 1973 so far and enjoying their eternal life in the little Jeansmuseum of heaviest fadings so far. 😬😬😘👖😬😬

Do you still have your 5 Edwin Nashville jeans?

Nashville for me! I think my current pair are also my 5th pair.

RIP Interstate Covent Garden.

Yeah it did (again).

Contacted Naoki about the Champloo several months ago and also had a pair reserved for me. But then I realized size 34 will be too small and I bought the Denime 25th instead (same price so I hope he wasn't too bothered).

Last week I asked about the SP-021 but just after I got the measurements, he sold the last size 36.

Well...I think I just go for a regular SD-103 next year or so
