Levis Lot 53: What's the story?

Recommended Posts

I have 3 pairs of Lot 53 jeans I got on ebay:

a selvedge pair made in Mexico

a funky pair with red bartacks and accents made in the USA

and a shiny beige pair.

My question is, what was Lot 53? There is almost no info on the internet, other than some TV show, Roswell, did a co-brand with Levis.

Anyone have any info or history about this line?

Thanks

i have a pair that i found at salvation army. huge 36x34 maybe, small leather tag says lot 53, selvedge (not fake per say but crappy, kinda funky and fuzzy), maybe resin coated or subtle "dirty" wash , made in mexico, loose 501 fit, button fly. inside tag reads 00601-1911. very wierd.

but outside of that i dont what they are or where they come from.

paul? how that book coming?

i'm not so sure, but i think when they reffered to lot, i think it just meant that batch of fabric, since each batch have a slight variation in shades some times

but i could be wrong,

yeah, i have a pair of lot 53 selvage that i got back around 2000? i think they were part of the promotional tie-in with the show "Roswell".

they are really baggy and the wash looks like crap. unfortunately, i was drunk when i bought them, which is when i do most of my regrettable things.
