DJ Dan and Donald Glaude stole the show for me. Song after song of epic bangers; the bass in that room was ear-drum shatteringly good.

I thoroughly enjoyed Noc this year though I did not expect it to be this insane. Great performances by Rusko, Treasure Fingers, etc etc

brokenglass - should be legit, we just export to mp3 then pass it. you'd just import the previous persons' snippet and mix in.

serge - unless they're drastically different it shouldn't be too bad, i try to find a middle ground BPM so neither is sped up too fast or slowed down. then just drop according to the track phrases... count your beats, etc. in ableton you can look at the spectrals of the track and basically see where you can fit a mix.

Kaskade kinda sucked. He dj'ed for about 30 mins then stopped the track, started a new one from silence and brought out two vocalists to sing on his track, which in theory is cool but it was executed terribly. The vocalists kept walking in front of the booth which produced the worst feedback ive heard which completely ruined my ears. Not only that but he was playing an instrumental on the cdj with the vocalists as opposed to mixing them in through production software so there was absolutely no headroom left in the mix and it was impossible to hear the vocals and the instrumental. This pretty much cleared the dance floor and it was interesting to see some people were actually still clapping afterwards (im pretty sure they had to be on at least 5 pills of e). He tried to get the energy back up but it felt like he was the warmup dj for at least 20-30 minutes afterwards and then an hour later, the song ended, another started from silence and another vocalists came out. and then more feedback.

you can probably attribute most of the work finding the sample to the other half, armand van helden but that's besides the point. I do think it's kind of ridiculous that they can make the release look like its an original when it sounds a hell of a lot like the original and is more of an edit imo

Cool! Would it be possible to work in WAV rather than 320k mp3? then we could do the final export in mp3 and it will sound nice and cohesive. Worrying we'll get a bunch of artifacting after rewarping/exporting the tracks like 20 times.

glad he kept most of the weirdos distracted though, daedelus' performance inside blew us away and there was likely no more than 40 people on the floor. it was all a lot more aggressive and drum-n-bassey than expected.

I think it has to do with the fact that hard 09 was split into 2 nights. If Hard 09' was one night of 2ManyDJ's, Soulwax, Justice, Shinichi, A-trak, Daedelus, Zombie Nation, it would have probably lived up to 08'.

on a side note: armin van buuren was really amazing last night. not much of a trance fan, but it was one of the best sets I've seen.

good luck finding one that is properly cracked, i've had several versions but finally gave up on ableton, every version i've had would regularly crash after a few minutes

Akura there's a mac ableton 7 on btjunkie that works for a few months but then starts to crash. Its hard to find a good cracked ableton for mac. I ended up just buying it with student discount. max for live is coming out soon so I thought It was time time to just sac up and pay.
