So, i am looking to spruce up my apartment and had this idea and wanted to know if you guys could help me forumulate it.

I was thinking of going and buying about 9-12 LP's with cool cover art and then binding them all together to make one sheet. Then I want to get a piece of class cut to cover the whole thing. Lastly, I wanted to find a friend who was a good artist and have them paint or draw a design on the glass over the records.

What do you guys think? Worth the trouble or would it be stupid? What ink would like the best, maybe sharpies or something or actual water paint.

this will cost you quite a few $$$. if you are going to do it. Pick 9 album covers of one band or keep it a theme. Dont just pick 9 random album covers. If you do then go with 9 jazz album covers or something. With the painting over a glass, dont use sharpy, it might end up looking tacky in my opinion, unless your buddy is a real good artist. I'd go with something thicker that would contrast well on glass. -just my opinion on it.

i agree i think most sharpies would be dull and transparent on the glass, maybe use some other type of paint marker...i think it would be cool to see something that stands out and gives the piece a 3d look...don't think it would be very expensive at all
